Bob, Depending on what car it came out of (Aristo/Jza70/MKIV etc), it could be any number of things located in that area.But I am sure you don't need it for the Ignitor. The ignitor has two plugs in the front, thats it.

Bob, Looks like the same thing. That extra plug appears to be for some thing else in the engine bay.They just left it on it) It just mounts onto the Igniter bracket.

Chris, that sound could be the vacum sound from the intake vacum hoses. Some od them have pretty strong vacum. I used to hear it all the time in my 7m as well. Especially the hose that goes to the cannister.
