The purple top USDM "550's" I bought were cleaned and flowed during my 1J swap. They flowed only 450cc. Until I see factual data, I believe it to be a myth.
Got it! Thanks.
However, I had bent one of the timing 'tits' on the backside of the gear and I hammered it straight. I don't think that this is one of those things that will bite me in the ass later. Well, I hope not....
Update:
For those of you that don't read the 1JZ/2JZ section, I fragged my 1JZ not too long ago. With that said, I've found a lot of things wrong with the 1JZ.
The #1 piston had next to no compression. When I pulled the head off, it looked pretty good and there wasn't any scaring on...
I have a puller, so I'll give that a shot. It won't wiggle at all.
I'm not too concerned about the crank to be honest, I'm pretty sure that the short block is toast. When i pulled the HB off, the lower timing cover had a hole worn into it from the HB rubbing it. Looks like crank walk to...
from the crank snout? I don't see anything holding it on, but it won't budge. I don't want to crank down on it and damage it before I find the right way to do it.....
Shouldn't just slide off?
So, apparently these are the only sensor that Stinger uses from the stock harness:
igniter
#2 cam sensor (towards flywheel)
crank sensor
coolant temp (on bottom of radiator?)
injectors
air temp sensor
TPS
That's a lot of lines I can trim out. I'm going to have to do some...
Also, I want to cap off a bunch of unnecessary vacuum lines coming off of the intake. I'm running Stinger, so I don't think that they're needed.
What about the vacuum lines that come off of the bottom of the throttle body, connects to the metal lines which then run into the intake manifold...
Hit a snag today as I started to install the top feed fuel rail. There were three allen head bolts supplied that connect the pedestals to the rail and they were too short. Second, it seems as if the correct AN fittings weren't provided. Well shit, it looks like I'll have to shell out some...
I don't think that it would flow enough oil to properly lube the turbo and provide an accurate oil pressure reading. I'd rather just get the oil sandwich plate and have peace of mind.....
