    Who wants to help?

it helps identify the platoon I'm in. There are three 'line' platoons (standard Infantry platoons), 1st platoon, 2nd platoon & 3rd platoon, in our Company, and they are nicknamed Red, White & Blue. I'm in 3rd/Blue platoon ---------- Post added at 05:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at...

    Who wants to help?

WOW! Many thanks to Jay & Lewis. Both were awesome enough to send packages that a bunch of people got to enjoy. Jay's (or Vonda's) cookies and Lewis's have had the most flavor I've experienced on almost 7 months. Very awesome. I guess a quick update is in order sonce I don'y stop by here...

What to do with my situation?

First off, I ALWAYS make major purchases on credit cards because it is much easier to cnacel the payment thru them (ie. file a dispute) and then it forces the seller to hold their end of the bargain. Second, the map sensor is a legit claim, but techincally, the ignitor is not. It is an...

    1jz motor build threads??

I applaud you! You used "research" and "without wasting money" in your first post. It seems like we see nothing but "tell me how" followed by an outrageous plan that rarely every gets completed around here. Pay Attention to Jay's (Supra hero) post. He has ran the gamut of set ups and he...

Anyone ever used the Driftmotion lightened pulley set for 1jz?

Me, I agree with Dirgle. I won't spit out a bunch of ill informed information, but I offer this line of logic. The automotive industry is out to do one thing. Make money. So, if the HB wasn't needed, then costs would have been cut in order to increase profit. Toyota must have seen the...

Rakkasans build, part III (project torque)

Too easy, Hadji fears me :icon_mad: The damage to the paint was from the car being left under a live oak when it rained. The acid from the leaves of a live oak has a powder that is high in Ph and turns into an acid when mixed with water. The hood an roof are pitted. Not to mention is was...

    1.5j compression ratio?

The 10.2 was with a stock GTE gasket, I should have made it more clear. My bad Jay and Boostage. I had my wife look up the numbers on my computer at home. They are: 176, 174, 173, 175, 174, 173, with a 2mm HG. I think 18psi is safe, and as high as i want to go. Maybe tune to 19.5psi, but...

Rakkasans build, part III (project torque)

yeah, I had no choice, but letting Jay take care of it was the choice I should have made in back in june. I deployed right after i got it back, so I had zero time to work on it. The wiring harness (1JZ), clutch (new), power steering pump (new), downpipe (a SS work of art from DM) were jacked...

Rakkasans build, part III (project torque)

LOL at the gay blueness Jay:biglaugh:. Did you get the PM or email about the passenger door? Thanks for the update, and it's QM1, Nissan Cloud White, not that blue gheyness. Right Jay? White......not blue....:biglaugh:

    1.5j compression ratio?

When I ran the numbers a few months ago (while doing my build), it came out to 10.2ish. I used a 2.0mm HKS MHG, and I ran a compression check that yeilded 176-180psi. Correct me if I'm wrong on the current C/R Jay.

    1jz, 1.5jz, 2jz-gte, 2jz na-t

hmmmm So, you are an 18 year old college that makes statements like "there truck turbos right?" that has little money, no plan and even less knowledge of the motors you want to swap in. I see an EPIC FAIL coming. Leave it alone for your own good.

    1jz head 2jz-GE bottom+Ge gasket?

LOL, that would have to have the most awesome tune ever, but the combo would be too much fun to drive.

    1jz head 2jz-GE bottom+Ge gasket?

with my 1.5, I went with a 2.0mm MHG. My calculations before I assembled MY MOTOR gave me a 8.8:1 C/R. A recent compression test yielded 174-180psi. Motors vary, so check your data and run your calculations to determine what YOUR compression will be. Blow up your motor by using my info and...

Making a highly responsive, streetable and pump gas only efficient 2JZ...ideas please

Making a highly responsive, streetable and pump gas only efficient 2JZ...ideas please

I offer that you run the compression calculator to ensure that the TT MHG will give you the 9.0:1 C/R you're looking for. I'm not saying it won't, I don't know your piston & head cc, but I had to go with a 2.0mm on my 1.5 (GE bottom end) in order to get the compression correct. I (and...

    1.5JZGTE FMIC hoses, huh???

LOL, rear D sucks I suggest that you don't touch your car until you redeploy from the 'Stan, and while you're there, research your ass off. It sounds like you got a good deal, now all you have to do is learn about Supras and work out the bugs when you return. Plus, the extra cash from...

Rakkasans build, part III (project torque)

Yes, but it's not very good news. Issues came up that include a lot of set backs in terms of time and money. It will be completed, but not for a couple of months. I'll have some pictures and info posted later, after all of the carnage is sorted out and some actual progress made.
