So how about when you have forged internals and you have some degree of piston slap?
I was told by my engine builder to let it warm up until the slapping is gone before driving.
I don't always do that but I drive it very gently until the slapping is gone.
Can anyone explain how the SLD works? and if there are any down sides to it's use with automatic gear and TEMS.
I have a PCS transmission controller waiting to go in so its a minor problem with the automatic gearbox. But how about TEMS?
But isn't EGR off by default and then actively enabled by the ECU?
The reason I ask is that I once had an EGR valve stuck open and the car couldn't idle at all. Actually I couldn't even start it at first. So if the EGR is actively closed by the USDM ECU shouldn't it be on at idle when using a...
Is there anyway to "fix" the speed cut and retain proper function of the automatic transmission and TEMS?
First time I used the JDM ECU I was trying to overtake some 18 year old young man in a Fiat Uno doing 80 km/h. He used the opportunity to start racing me (that idiot). I barely made it...
I have a JDM ECU and it does have a speed limiter. Ask me how I know....
The JDM ECU has a purple sticker on it.
Why does it make the car run rich if EGR is still hooked up?
I'm adding TEMS to my car and it is already working.
I have a few problems though.
Before I realized that I can't find the information in the TEWD I took apart the gauge cluster to harvest the TEMS display and took of the plug of the TEMS steering sensor.
So I need to know the colors of...
I've been going through the TEWD, but I haven't spotted a 20A line that is on all the time.
Any suggestions where I can tap a 20A fused line that is on when the ignition is off? (I'm going to connect the mirrors to the alarm so they fold when the alarm is armed)
My best bet at the moment...
I got it. It was the combination of part of the intermediate shaft hitting the firewall and the intermediate shaft being stuck on the main shaft. Just needed a hammer.
I'm adding TEMS to my car and so I need to exchange the steering column for one with the steering sensor.
How do I get it out?
I have gotten to the point where I have unbolted the cover plate from the column hole cover and unbolted the intermediate shaft from the main shaft but the...
So you suggest using 265 instead of 255 to stretch the tire? Can you explain how using tires that are 1 cm wider can result in more stretch?
Are you sure about your sizes? +12 on a 10 inch wheel can't be flush, when +14 on a 10 inch wheel isn't.
I don't think it is warped. I don't think mine would even leak if I just untightend the screws and left the targa in place.
You just need to go through the sealing again. You've obviously made a mistake (although I can't tell you which)
Did you remove the two rails (front and back) and put a line of "goo" underneeth both?
I used some black stuff which looks like silicone but it never hardens and stays sticky and sort of liquid.
Did you replace the front and the rear seals too? Or only the sides?
Mine leaked badly from the passenger side so I changed the front and rear only (not the the sides) and it stopped. Never had one drop inside the car since, not even when hosing the car and directing the water straight at the...
