    HKS Fuel Cut Defender Problems

I hit fuel cut for the first time the other day when it was cold out, 18psi, after finally replacing my high-flow cat with a test pipe, running a 57Trim CT, Lex AFM, 550's at 50psi, SAFC, and monitoring with a wideband tuned to 11.5 at WOT. I will first check for boost leaks, but if I still get...

    Dashpot upgrade mod. Possible?

I found out that my dashpot VTV was faulty, so the working one I just bought should improve my problem. I decided to cut it open and have a look. There is a secondary air filter, and the check valve is near the red part of the VTV, and the the air is slowly released through a metal plug piece...

    Dashpot upgrade mod. Possible?

For those that don't know, the dashpot is a simple diaphram that uses a valve to let air in quickly, but release it slowly, easing the throttle plate closed when released over a very short period of about .8 seconds. I have a 1" GFB brand blow off valve recirculating into the accordion hose...

    Mikes Turbo INC.

I bought my Supra with a 57 trim garrett center CT26 turbo, like Mike's, but I don't know who made mine. I noticed that the CT26 housing had no seal, it just clamps against the flange, and was leaking a lot of boost through there. I had to use a small bead of high-temp silicone to seal the...

    Burning lots of oil

So a turbo leaking/smoking oil may not show oil or wetness on the exhaust side?? If my car doesn't burn any oil at startup for for at least 5 minutes, maybe it is the turbo, since it needs to heat up enough to burn oil? Anyone else had this experience?

    Here come some interesting pics...

Looks like the shortened, fat bumper is all the rage in Europe. I like how they really try to stuff the deepest lip wheels as possible. I know, I did!

    Burning lots of oil

Since coming back from Vegas, and putting in a test pipe, I have noticed that my 7MGTE is burning a lot more oil than it used to. Probably 1-2 quarts per 1000 miles. It does not smoke at startup, but smokes a fair bit once warm, and doesn't seem related to boosting. It will smoke at idle and...

Soft pedal feel after flushing and bleeding brake system

If I took it to a shop and had them pressure bleed the system, would that get the air out of the master? I'm keen to get this fixed ASAP.

How to tell if valve guides or seals are bad?

My car now has similar oil-burning issues. It won't smoke on startup, but will smoke a fair bit once warm, and is using a moderate amount of oil. I pulled the downpipe and the turbo was dry on both sides. Could this be valve stem seals?

Soft pedal feel after flushing and bleeding brake system

I recently flushed the DOT 3 out of my brake system with Super Blue DOT 4. My car has the ABS system removed and bypassed. At the suggestion of a local mechanic, I gravity drained the old fluid out, then gravity fed in the new fluid, then used a vacuum bleeder. I found the vacuum bleeder had...

    Ceramic brake pads

I did the recommended bed-in procedure, of five 60-10mph stops. Fade was quick to show up so I waited a while between stops. It was after I really overheated the brakes during datalogging pulls that the pad imprint and vibration showed up. Where I was, I was forced to come to a stop, while the...

Project Cherry Widebody - Pics and overview thread

Check this out. By complete LUCK, the top ridge of the Aftermarket Honda wing totally lines up with the angle of the side window trims! Straight out of the box! The pointed tips just needed to be shortened a bit. These pics are without the mouldings, but the angle of the sun was PERFECT...

Project Cherry Widebody, finished! (New pics on post #451 and #511)

I've created an "overview" thread, with all the basic info about the car that people usually ask about, i.e. which wheels, body parts, mods, LED tails, etc: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83198 Now I'm going to jam both threads with a whack load of more pics :biglaugh...

    Fidanza or Stock Flywheel??

I run a Fidanza, and I highly recommend the ACT XTSS kit: 2600lb pressure plate with ACT full-face organic street disc. It holds 522ft/lbs of torque, and the engagement is BABY smooth. My pedal is now rather stiff, but easy to get used to and my left leg never gets sore. And not nearly as stiff...

    Sway Bars

+1 for the whiteline bars. They cost more but are worth it because they come with upgraded front endlinks and are adjustable (soft, medium, hard). George at Raptor Racing is in Canada, and I bought my set from him. (See him in the Vendor section here) The improvement in handling performance...

    Compressor surge?

I think at light throttle, a lot of BOV's flutter. I've tried a Bosch and a GFB brand BOV, and they both did this. At full boost, my BOV does not flutter, and that seems to be the most important.

Questions for those running short shifters

Yes, no need for any new bushings, the V3 has it's own.

    hard starting

I'm not sure, but I've read that the Cold Start Injector doesn't work until it is below 50-60 degrees. Many people have eliminated the CSI, and do not have problems starting in the morning, in average climates. My car is hard to start cold, and I'm getting code 43, which means the ECU is not...
