Electro house fans, post here! (music, links, etc.)

Anyone else a fan of house music, particularly electro, tribal, disco, etc? DeadMau5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU-VA3BYzmg Live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7tI1E6kp0o I've found a great local artist/remixer/DJ who lives here in Vanvouer, Lazy Rich: Most of these you gotta fast...

well turns out my rear end is bad

You want to be sure you get the same gear ratio, and and Limited slip (LSD), if possible. I just bought one used and it was $90 for shipping via UPS.

    popping and cracking under boost........

It's probably plug gap. Mine sputtered under boost but went away with new plugs gapped to around .28 I think?

SP Quick Spool Valve dyno results

I was hoping for that, but SP says that the higher the spring tension in the actuator is, the more pressure is needed to make it move the full throw to open the valve fully. So a 10psi actuator would be open potentially much later than 15psi. The current 5psi actuator needs 10-11 psi to be fully...

How would you set it up? There are some pics of the setup outside of the car here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?86561-Updated-Pics-on-post-28.-Billet-turbo-with-SP-Quick-spool-valve.&p=1307047&viewfull=1#post1307047

SP Quick Spool Valve dyno results

^^^ lol! It was the turbo that was the biggest PITA because the bolts and fittings on it were nearly impossible to access. On a regular turbo kit the valve would be pretty easy to install if you were building the downpipe and IC pipes for the first time. I ordered a new hobbs switch today...

SP Quick Spool Valve dyno results

I talked to Larry at SP and he says he has been successful getting a smooth transition on cars with the valve opening suddenly at the right PSI using a standalone. I previously tried using a generic brand hobbs switch and MAC solenoid and had trouble setting it accurately, and could not get a...

SP Quick Spool Valve dyno results

Check the 2nd dyno graph in post #1. Blue=pull with valve open the whole time. Green=pull with valve closed the whole time. Red=pull with valve opening around 12psi. Not sure why the top end appears rough. It feels smooth on the street. The torque curve says it all. Any time I put my foot down...

SP Quick Spool Valve dyno results

Do you suppose I could safely lean it out with the SAFC between 2500-3000 for faster spool? I'm guessing it's because the stock ECU goes super rich at WOT starting at 2500rpm, and I have no idea what the timing is during spool-up without a standalone. Plus the compressor exducer on this turbo is...

SP Quick Spool Valve dyno results

On a street car, most driving is done around 2000-3500rpm and that extra TQ is great. Even just a few more psi than normal early in the powerband really solves that "empty" feeling when you give it gas at low rpm. I find that the difference is "felt" more than the graph shows it. The turbo also...

SP Quick Spool Valve dyno results

I tested my SP Quick Spool Valve today. Don't know what it is? Click here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?85016-SP-Quick-Spool-Valve To recap, this is a Forced Performance 62mm billet GT35r(.84 T4 turbine) on stock 7MGTE with SAFC on stock ECU. It seems to be worth about...

Stumbling at random times while cruising

Am I right in assuming that it must be related to the ECU closed loop circuit and not ignition or fuel, since the problem only happens during idle and cruising but disappears at wide-open-throttle? What are the main components of the ECU closed loop circuit other than the O2 sensor? Anyone have...

HELP! is this hurting my car/turbo?!

I bigger BOV is a good idea. I have a Bosch BOV kicking around I can sell you, but it did flutter as well, although it will be quite a bit better than stock because it flows more air. I later installed a larger BOV but had it set too tightly, and it fluttered also, and I think it really...

Limiting 1st gear wheel spin - ideas?

Thanks for the info guys, I noticed that my boost was still falling off 1-2psi at the higher RPM's even with the 13lb springs, so I assumed a possible boost leak instead of a wastegate issue. I tightened up the adjuster screw on my BOV 1.5 turns and this solved the boost drop off problem. Today...

    2nd gear launch?

2 step can make a big difference. Are you running a T67? You might really prefer a 3.91 diff (on the street). In the past I put a 4:10 torsen in mine and I really didn't like the way it ran up the gears/RPM's so fast. My engine and turbo combo did better with the loading effect of the 3.91...

Got any more info on what it takes to install that T2 torsen? And how much power they hold up to in the IS300 world?

    2nd gear launch?

Drag radials or slicks are a necessity. I was able to put down around 500hp in 1st gear without spinning. An auto would get you that extra second. Too bad it's not worth it for a street car!
