The range is closer to 190-240F that it thinks is ok. I'm not fond of the idea that 240F is ok. If my temps are heading north of 210, I want to know about it now, because I'm going to stay out of boost at the least, and possibly pull over, shut off the car, and read a book while it cools down...

    7MGTE ECU harness extension

My apologies, I was making an educated guess at wholesale costs. To be honest, I'm glad that someone in this industry is making money - and I'm not going to begrudge him a profit. He's welcome to charge anything he wants - it's not like anyone else with the skill, knowledge, initiative, and...

I'm sure Jeff is plotting to retire that banner the instant you buy a sticker... :D

Hate to say it, but this statement is worthless without pics! There have been at least three generations of SM stickers that I am aware of, and there may well have been another before that. I don't have a picture of the original run of stickers anymore, that was before my time, which means...

IMO, holding your hand over the radiator and GUESSING is more accurate than the stock gauge. There's nothing wrong with Autometer.

Remember that point I was making about the stock gauge? 3p141592654, a member here went to the effort to actually map out how accurate it is. Check this graph: See what I mean about useless? Toyota engineered it this way on purpose, because they know from experience that designing gauges...

    can anyone identify this BOV?

Why would anyone design a BOV that sounds like compressor surge? That's like making a muffler that sounds like an open pipe... wait... people buy Nur-Spec exhausts, too, I guess. ;)

    Skid Plate

A few facts to throw into the mix here, folks. This piece from Toyota weighs basically nothing. Switching to Carbon Fiber might save you an ounce. Two at the outside. The dirt that gets caught on it usually weighs more than the part itself. Anyone claiming that they run without a shroud /...

    7MGTE ECU harness extension

Dude... relax. I'm certainly not telling you that you have to buy one, I just posted about it so that in the future, people who search and find this thread will know what options they have available. As for the price... do the math: (these are *wholesale* prices, btw) 64 female pins @ $0.50...

lol - that would be me. I'll dig out the links to the Mk2 / Mk3 fonts if anyone wants 'em. I agree with the single font point, too. Personally, I think that you're limiting your design by using the Mk3 font and outline. You won't find much support from the Mk2 / Mk4 world that way. Unless...

    7MGTE ECU harness extension

At a guess I'll say that you aren't going to want this, however, for the sake of future searchers... I'm pretty sure that DrTweak makes a patch harness that gives you a few inches of length.

Go for it. Which design are you looking to do? I have the art for this one... hell, I'm pretty sure I still have a bunch of the stickers! You're welcome to use my art, too, it's in Corel format but I can export it to anything you like if you want it.

    Transmission Removal

If you're pulling the engine, I HIGHLY suggest pulling both the engine and tranny. If, however, you're just dropping the tranny for a clutch job or something, it's still way faster to drop the tranny.

I crack them loose from the top using a box end wrench and some lube on my left arm. Even with the lube I always seem to end up with a few deep scratches in my arm. Then I use several wobble extensions, a wobble, and I curse a lot getting them the rest of the way out from underneath the car.

is the price right for this MK4?

Make sure you understand what you are getting. The NA version has a different engine, brakes, wheels... trying to turn an NA into a true Turbo model is quite the task.

    Stay 7M or go 1jz or 2jz?

Actually, the stock ECU is quite impressive. It allows the car to run in everything from sub freezing temperatures to hot jungle to arid desert. It runs on different qualities of fuel. It runs at sea level, and it runs in the high alpine. It does all of this while still maintaining decent...
