Can you post any more info on it? Custom flexplate needed, all you did was swap over the bellhousing, MKIV TT torque converter, and swap the tailshaft over, done deal? Trans brace bolts right up?
Smack it hard enough with a sledgehammer and it will drive the stud out in one clean motion without any harm to the wheel bearing (think of how to install freeze plugs...one big WHACK instead of a bunch of small taps).
The 'right' way is a special service tool which wraps around the hub and...
That has to be the stock rotor, I just got my calipers in the mail and looking at where the brake pads are the rotor should be spaced much further out than that.
ECU is too big for any place other than the glovebox, so mine's sitting right there and locked. I ran the USB cable from the glovebox into the dashboard and out the front where the radio is, so I never need to open it anyways.
You could put it at the passenger footwell but you'd need to make a...
Agreed on pretty much everything! After you start modding there's always one more thing you need to get to fix an issue that cropped up because of said mods, it's just a never ending snowball until you end up at a standalone with all new sensors.
I think those ECUs (Mine's and the lot) raise...
Yes I have, and no, it won't. The whole point of the mod is that everything runs exactly the same as before but you have a 25% increase in airflow (and therefore power). It'll run the same as it did before the mod, because again, the ECU doesn't know the difference. What's not to get?
The flow...
You're assuming that the stock 440cc injectors don't flow 440cc at 43.5 psi...which they do. Everything scales up 25% and the ECU is none the wiser. If you set your base fuel pressure at 43.5 psi on the stock ECU you'll run even richer than stock, which is saying something.
The stock FPR sets the base fuel pressure and isn't adjustable. Usually people get an AFPR when going with the lexus afm/550cc injectors but that's only because when you step up in power its wise to make sure everything is set correctly...there really isn't a mechanical need to get one. The fuel...
The stock FPR is fine, the only reason I'd get an AFPR is if I want to see what the fuel pressure is with a gauge (easily), or set the base fuel pressure.
That's the one, its the only E85 compatible one they have so that's one easy way to find it. Depending on the place its advertised its the walbro 400, walbro 416, or the walbro 450. A bit annoying.
Haven't dug it out yet haha, been too cold and trying to clean everything up. I'll let you know soon!
If you're going to swap a walbro in, jump right to the Walbro 416 (E85 compatible). Same size, same price, fits in the stock fuel pump hangar. Flows 416lph which is good for 650hp or so on E85 and 900 or so on pump.
You'd have to compare piston area of ARZ's wilwood calipers (which I can't find as they don't give a part number) and brake radius (which should be the same).
There's also the issue of using new parts versus used, and the fact that ARZs rotors are two piece and very light is a bonus as well.
The VIN would tell you what type of engine came in that car from the factory, yes. You'd have to ask a Toyota dealer though, maybe Jeff Lange on here could help?
NGK coppers will give a great spark but copper plugs need to be replaced more often than any of the other ones. I'd check all your basic sensors and make sure they're in spec: AFM, AIT, coolant temp sensor for the ECU.
Was the car a 7MGE from the factory? If so it should already have the 4.3...
Awesome, thanks for the info!
I currently have FD rims on mine, they fit on MKIV rears if you grind the calipers a bit and the rear rotors are 326mm...maybe they'll fit over these brakes too.
When you look on rockauto and search for calipers and rotors, centric (from memory) has a small picture with dimensions next to their item. Our front calipers have one 60mm piston and the mercedes calipers are 4 pots, 2 are 44mm and 2 are 40mm according to the pictures.
You also have to take...
That pic of the 17" RPF1 makes it seem like there's a ton of space between the caliper and the rim. Anyone have some 16" rims lying around, sawblades even?
Yeah the rating system is a good idea but there's still a few rough edges. 400 is way too much.
Did you try to claim value for the stock oil cooler? Any way you can not claim the springs, did you replace the dampers as well? Value for parts removed will get you a few points back.
I'd suggest...
Good to hear you're having fun with it! My cousin and his friends bought an Integra and we raced at Watkins Glen, it was a whole lot of fun.
What is the car valued at currently? From the one race I went to (and the few I heard about) its very easy to skirt the rules... and on a side note...
