i think what hes saying is that if you take the rod, you cant slip it into the piston hole from the top... so he wants to put them in backwards (which would never work)

true, but i think its a lot easier to get a 7m up and running on stock cams, and THEN once its built and what not to just swap the cams, it doesnt take very long to get the valve covers off or get the timing cover off...

send it to a shop to get looked at before you scrap the idea of the turbo. a rebuild of just the seals and other misc. stuff is under $300... but still sucks that you got lied to.
leave it stock or go for a lot more than just a vf34... once you start you just dont stop. and thats a fact... and if you have kids, think about there future and where you could save that money for college or something.
but on a sidenote, a wrx with an exhaust sounds nice. has that rumble to it...

dont worry about the cams, duane made 660hp on a stock head... just get the valves, retainers, and springs to make sure thats all good.

i would worry most about your oil system, and your fuel/tuning system.
your thread title is very misleading. hes still being taught and is even learning 'better' from his private tutor... so it only made since to pursue a career, and get an education in a much easier environment. dumb ass career, but its not my life or child... lol

autoparts store should have the clutch alignment tool.
i would change the front and rear main seals, along with the oil pan, if it leaks.
other than that, you could get all of the other gaskets when the engine is in if you dont wanna have it out for a while
