I would think that bracing that would have an effect would need to be like a roll cage,or be something that ties the car together higher up in the chassis, (harness bar comes to mind.)

Like this^^.Use a chisel though,and make sure you hammer in the right direction.Tightening the other 4 lugs can help a little too,(takes some of the pressure off of the locking lug.)
