i've heard a car with a straight pipe... and its not THAT loud... but he never got on it, its all about how you drive the car...
but yeah, a local muffler shop should be able to handle it no problem. if not there is a "diy kit" offered from 935motorsports.com

my thinking is either... valve stem seals... valve guides (which would mean bad stem seals also) and possibly bad rings...

a boost controller has nothing to do with accordian pipe... the boost controller goes between the line from the compressor housing (front of the turbo) and the line on the wastegate.
and the only vacuum hoses on the stock intake are for PCV, BOV, and the power steering... did you use a vacuum...
i understand now. i had this happen to me a few times on my 86.5 after i installed an oil cooler (with no thermostat) it takes too long for the oil pressure to build up and you hear it like its rod knock. i just scrapped my oil cooler... haha
your oil pump may be bad too...

on a turbo car you should have MORE power on the top end with a 3'' exhaust.. if you 'lose' power you need to check over your car and make sure everything is operationg properly...
3'' exhaust = less backpress = easier on the turbo to boost
supras have been around since 1987... or did you forget that? people have seen a 7mgte before... and people know what engines are normally suppose to look like. and they have books with the info.
to the OP... if ALL of those areas where 'shaved' looking... then they probably went too far, the one marks on my head are at bottom left, and the bottom right (in your pic)

hmmmm 180k on a supra? most HG go between 150 and 200... my car got rod knock at 140k... and it has back due reg. which is $300... so that right there is now a $1500 car... no radio? and the pass. side window doesnt work!??? uh... NOT for $1500...

mine was G305/R154 which meant it had the 3.73 LSD rear end with a R154 transmission...
