I have a CX kit, and it worked for me. Well almost. I did have to get a few more couplers and clamps, but it's in and working great. My build thread has some pics: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92669&page=4 but they're only the topsections. Gotta get around to taking more...
Shimming the pump will help, but more likely, the oil squirt-er, and oil cooler springs are the culprits. When they get weak, they will open at lower pressures, and that will lower your overall pressure. definitely get a mechanical gauge though, to be sure.
You can pull a head off, clean it, lap valves, and be in the process of reinstalling it in 15 minutes. Wow, you're special! I am humbled by your magnificence!
Since this is a refinement of the idea lewis15498 originally posted, it seemed pretty obvious that I was going to run the line through the guide, and fish it out the plug hole. All the other steps just logically progress from there.
As far as the mounts go, I admitted my mistake in a previous post. As far as using a compressor, I only said it could be done, that I had done it, and I did not recommend it for inexperienced people.
Well, your attitude in this case belies that. Or is it that your ideas are good, and all others are bad. If lewis15498 comes through for me this Saturday, I will prove my theory to all, and if not, I will find a head somewhere, cause I'm not quitting till I prove my case.
Not everyone has the time, inclination, and money to do that. This is maybe a way to avoid all that, if you're not in a position to do that, and a valve has dropped into the cylinder. Apparently no one here has heard of innovation, or reasoning out a solution to a problem, since those concepts...
Hey dopey, you don't put the line thru with glue on it. you put it thru clean, then fish it out the spark plug hole. after that, you use a magnet to fish out the valve stem. Then you clean the tip of the stem and glue the line to the top of the stem, slowly drop the valve back in, and pull the...
You're right, I spaced on the mounts, cause I had new on the brain. However, I have done it without a compressor, but I was using an impact gun at the time. Just get a good grip on the spring and mount, and the strut shoots out a few feet when the nut pops. I'm not recommending this unless...
If you do it yourself, pictures are worth a million words. Take detailed pics, before, and during the removal process, and you will always have a visual reference, as to where everything goes.
