Got an offer on my car I might take!

That would make a nice downpayment on a new Z06:) I'd sell mine for that kind of money. Seriously. (And I would like to buy the Z06, but would hate to make the payments... )

Could a Powered Intercooler Work? In theory at least?

Few things. The compressor takes less than 10hp to run, more like 2 to 7 depending on the size of the system from what I've been told. The older R12 freon was nasty if you burned it, so putting an evaporator into your intake tract to cool the charge was not a good idea. Ford only could do this...

The Best Engine -- Opinions please

I'd buy the one for 500.00, and then pull the motor and see what it needs to rebuild it. Pistons, bearings and the machine work are not that bad, but if you don't have some basic skills to assemble the motor, figure about 3k for the rebuild on the low end, and 5k or more for the upper end...

    Flush headlights (hear me out)

Ok, motorcycle dual lamp setup. One is on for low, and one for high. They are setup so there is a top, or right way up. (So, if the right lamp is the low beam, the left is the high beam...) Now, if you used two of them, one in each lamp location, the low beam would still be the left one...

    Carbon fiber Intake Manifold

Good luck. Mostly a cosmetic thing your going for? The difference in heat loss, and weight is totally never going to add up to what your going to spend making this, and getting it to work right. IMHO anyway.

    Elusive Lambo Orange Supra Pics

So, on the new vette, and some other cars, the door "handles" are really just touchpad's that activate the door latches.... Are they going to "instaban" the Z06 and other Vette's? Basicly they just have shaved door handles if you think about it. (The door opening "keypad" or button is just...

    Fuel upgrades

I remember reading a Toyota write up on not changing the factory fuel filter on these cars for the life of the vehicle. Something about it being good for 300,000 or more thousand miles. (At the low end.) That being the case, as I add the second pump, I'm going to try and use the spare...

    Flush headlights (hear me out)

Buel head lamps. Less than 100.00 for the lamp, it has both your high and low beam, but as noted, it's going to cause your lamps to shift to one side as you use them.. (No big deal, unless your standing right in front of the car and give a rat's ass about symmetry.) The adventure rider guys...

Gas saving idea from the other forum

Well, if this is done right, as Jetjock notes, there really is no downside. (And that's why the OEM aplications work so well using wideband 02 sensors.) Ultra lean operation, in the 25:1 range is possible too, but emmisions become a problem. I know on the FSI engines in Europe, they can run...

    Flush headlights (hear me out)

You know something that might work is a set of Buel motorcycle head lamps. The problem is they are setup with a "top" and your light would be two low beams on the one side, and two high beams on the other, but I belive they would fit height wise for the most part, or only need a slight "bulge"...

Gas saving idea from the other forum

Well, as Israel and Syria are on the brink of war again, and Iran is supplying Hezballah with missiles, get ready for 4.00 gas very soon. (or more in some states with really high taxes on fuel.) Thanks for the info JetJock. I remember flying with my brother, and him leaning out the mix based...

Gas saving idea from the other forum

I've driven the V8/V4 used in the new Suburban. What a nice idea in the wrong aplication. (Too large a vehicle for too small of a motor.) Best ways to save fuel on the Supra Turbo is the following. 1) Open up your exhaust. Get rid of your cats too. 2) Make sure your plugs and wires are in...

    Why not higher compression ratio??

Too bad that Audi has not decided to bring the excellent turbo diesels they sell in Europe here to the States. (They have V8 and V10 twin turbo versions that have excellent tourqe and drive quite nice.) The V10 did come over for a brief time in the Toureg, but nobody here bought them, and...

Help - I need a stock downpipe turbo to cat

Yep, I've kept mine hanging on the wall for a few years for this very reason. Funny thing is, the car is tuned so well, it almost passed with NO cats. (The guy takes his mirror, looks under the car, says "I guess that'll do..." then sticks the sniffer up the tailpipe and runs the test... LOL...

Oil pressure, how much is too much?

so, 7psi at idle, and 30ish at 2k or more? Sounds normal to me. (pretty good actually, there are some on here that had just a few psi at idle, and not much more than 20 at higher rpm.) I was shooting for 30 at idle, but the pump is not driven fast enough for that to happen with the amount of...

    My targa brace

Don't laugh, but we used sawzall's to cut up the cars when I build limo's... (Just took a few blades that's all....) and it was dang loud, especially when cutting across the roof panel. Too bad on the alloy option, perhaps in the future, but I rarely take my targa off the car anyway, but with...

What do you think of the Ruff Racing 18x9.5 18x8.5

Interesting license plate on the bike... Hope that is not someone's first motorcycle... (They don't call them donor bikes for nothing you know..) As far as the rims go, they are your choice, not mine. They are too heavy if they are not less than 20lbs each IMNSHO.

    More Engine Pictures!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed that Toyota uses a similar oil cooler in many of their engines now. Not a bad idea. You don't over cool the oil, and it keeps plumbing the system simple too. Nice use of your existing lines and fittings. :) Now I will have to get a set of those awesome looking cam sprockets...

Oil pressure, how much is too much?

Nose, not sure why yours is not higher. Could just be your bearing clearance is such that your base pressure is going to be where it is. (And that should be fine as long as you don't have periods of no oil pressure to wear the bearings more, and increase the amount of oil being lost, and...

    Why not higher compression ratio??

Ok, here are some simple facts every engine has to deal with. Most pump gas will detonate at CR's over about 12.5:1, and considerably less on our engines due to advances in the design of the newer motors. Some NA's might be able to run that ratio, but not that I know about. When your at low...
