^ yup they are easy, just reverse them and done.
as for an update i received the wiring harness today, and also got it installed! very excited. My plans are to start it on Sat. i cant wait
as an update for today, i plan on cutting out my lower rad support. this will give me some additional room for the radiator and provide a better way of mounting it. This should also gain me the clearance i will need for the taurus fan that i scored today with a taurus 130amp alt for $22!
i really dont see why people think its going to be an expensive project? its not going to cost any more than your typical 1jz swap and way less than you typical 2jz swap :3d_frown:
i already cut the oem rad support out, i will be b working on a new replacement over the next couple of days...
i'm not a fan of how it mounts neither but i cant put it any other way, and other lextreme members have done it this way. i actually just picked up a taurus fan and 130 amp alternator from the jy today for $22. gotta love those junk yards.
i dont plan on running coolant lines, i ran...
really? i been running mine with 290rwhp 334tq for 2 years. used to daily it and its been thru 5 road races and 2 trips from NJ to canada. still shifts smooth and no weird issues...
btw do you know if all the w58s are the same all thru the different years?
^no idea.. i dont plan on making that much more power than i was before. probably even less. so 300-350 rwhp. i know the w58's are good for around 300 rwhp and some people have used them up to 400rwhp. i guess it's all up to how you drive. no burnouts or dragging for me. i drive like a...
got home early today so i was able to do some custom trans work. I still need to mount the slave cylinder. but so far it works like it should. excuse my redneck fab skillz lol, im just a young guy with a grinder :) on with the pics!
first pic shows the size difference of the w58 bellhousing...
lol yea its a tight fit in there. i have no idea.. its a craigslist special... guy bought it for his 280z with a 350 block on it and it was too big, so he was selling it cheap. fits perfect for me... itll take some grinding but not too much
lol, those things are soo old... never get used tho (they r in the basement)
80's ftw lol
it probably will. but at the same time it will be in direct flow of the rad fan. i also dont have many other options in terms of placement, so maybe a heat sheild is in order? i'm actually thinking...
mm some goodies came in. i'm going to try to figure out this whole shift fork situation tomorrow if i have time. thanks jake for the adapter and flywheel! they look amazing
you get tired of seeing 1jz's and 2jzs, its time for something different. i dont want to modify the frame, but i do road racing as well so i need to maximize the cooling
already did that. the problem is i do road racing once in a while. so while a stock rad may work for a daily i need the...
i got quoted $780 for a custom radiator with 2 1.45" rows... nuts... but i found a local guy selling a 26x16 with a 3" core for $180 brand new. its really maximizing the space.
so since my 1uz project needs some more room to breathe i plan on shoving a nice thick radiator where the condensor used to be. my question is who else here has cut out their stock radiator support and made a new one with square tubing. its a pretty easy task and fairly simple, but i'm curious...
so i was able to think up some ideas of how to get this alt to work out with the headers reversed. so i gutted the stock hydro fan pump and inverted the alternator over it. i just need to make a small bracket and make a spacer. Looks kinda funky but it seems like my best bet. don't laugh at...
pictureless update; well i got the harness yesterday, but im an idiot and mistook the sc400 for a sc300 so i got the wrong harness. if anyone needs a cheap uncut 2jz harness lemme know lol. so i had to reorder a sc400 harness. i also had some time to start taking some things off the motor...
