I would wait. It's not that big of a price jump for such a great point of difference. The Koni's and Bilstein's by reputation are a better product. Spend the cash once and get the right product.
We had availability problems with the rear bushings so just the front is done and the car is in storage till next year. The guys at the shop have done this alot lately and never ran into the problems you metioned. Maybe the Poly were just a little more forgiving and helped the install.
I was...
I have 17's and H&R's and Tockico Blues. Mine ride fine and have lasted a long time. However, this seems to be a rare case. I would recommend the Bilsteins or the Koni's and they are what I will upgrade to when these are shot.
17x8 Front +25, 225/45/17
17x9 Rear +39, 255/40/17
I personally feel these wheels fit perfect. They are FLUSH in the front. With the 225 I have had them rub only once. I beleive with a slight roll I could fit 235's for sure, possibly 245's but I will do some measurements before...
If I ever buy another Supra it would be a 91-92. I bought my 88 because it was a good deal and in good condition. Also, options are pretty limited up in Canada since most cars are rust buckets. I am currently trying to complete the 89+ conversion that was started before I got the car. I...
It looks exactly like the M90 on my 97 Grand Prix GTP. I'm not sure which S/C they used on the series 1 3.8's (pre 1997). If it did come from a series 2, the pulley will be a 3.8".
I hope he ported that M-90. They aren't too efficient in stock form but with a good port and a small pulley they can do pretty decent. Do you know what pulley size he is running? Is it a modular setup from ZZP?
Were you running stock boost?
EDIT: looks like more than stock since it's maxing out the stock gauge. What are you running for boost and boost controller?
I have HORRIBLE wheel hop and am currently attempting to fix this problem. I am replacing the suspension bushings with Poly, adding LIPP traction arms, I replaced the wheels/tires and I will most likely replace my shocks (all 4). If I still have wheel hop...I'm driving it off a cliff.
EDIT...
My guess is that once he turns the boost up to 10 lbs, the pipe from the turbo the IC will crack. It happened to me. My car was 100% stock except for a hole in the wastegate hose (hit fuel cut now and again...took me a while to diagnose it). Let me tell you, doubling the stock boost makes A...
I got into an arguement about oil with the local retard at the Parts Source. I found a good supply of German Castrol and walked up to the counter with a basket full. The genius behind the counter went on to tell me that I was "wasting my money" and that "All oil comes from the same container...
I like my 3.91 but if I could find a good condition 3.73 in the future I would switch to that. My car just revs too high when going 130 km/h on the highway.
