theres an adjustment screw on the back, some people dont bother to set it up correctly and then bitch when it bogs and dies. i had mine set for the sp61 and when i had to put the stocker back on i didnt bother messing with my ssqv. i backfired alot more and it was opening up at a much lower...
my fuses were fine, swapped out the dimmer from my buddy's car and bam dash lights. i has inspected the dimmer for signs of charing or broken contacts, nothing. bought a dimmer off another forums member and bam dash lights work :)
if you notice he says nothing about safc or anything else. with the walbro lex 550s and all i have seen alot of guys drop a few pounds off the stock FP to get a better idle and highway cruise as they were way too pig rich. with just the walbro, 550s and the lex what would he do to lean things...
fix the headgasket once and fix it right and you set really. keep an eye on your fluids and your set.
1jz and all will break. any motor will. if you neglict it and dont watch your levels you will break a motor no problem.
if they are sloppy with the swap you wll have problems with the 1jz...
i have the lex/550s only with a walbro and afpr waiting to go on.
heres the catch, if your not going to tune or anything and are just going torun slightly higher boost (shrug)
if you are going to tune and go for higher hp (400+) get one, youll need it
yes there is a difference in 89+ and pre89 starters. the 89+ iirc has threaded holes and the pre doesnt. as for the difference in cressida ones... dunno
