More often than not your first instinct is correct. You saw it was gross and covered is sludge, and it's correct to remove that. Any surface with that crap on it should be cleaned, it's not doing anything helpfull for the engine anyway....

One time I got pulled over doing 91 in a 60 and left my wallet at school, containing ALL my ID. I got a ticket for the speeding, 3 pts, but all i had to do to remove the tickets for the insurrance was show my proof of insurrance/ownership within 48 hrs to the police.

Just a quick update:
I didn't do the glass work like i promissed, but it was for a better cause, as I FINALLY finished installing all 48 keepers in the head. I got up today and said to myself "I will do it today, no more putting it off" and so I did it and now I can put the head on the block...
He's told me he'd send me some other parts to make up for it, but those haven't come either. No surprise tho.
My only advice for people using ebay: Get paypal or bidpay.

I can get ahold of him whenever I want. He's active on this forum and SF and sells parts. I didn't get anything back, and don't think he'll pay me after such a time since I bought it. All i got was his account kicked off ebay, but he simply made a new one as you have shown. Oh well.

Exact thing happenned to me about 2 years ago. I sent the money order for $144 for a door shipped to a guy and never saw the part. I waited anxiously for it too, as my 92's driver side door was rusting away with every wash ahaha. You guys might recognize the fella on here, goes by the name...
On the first page you can see what I'm talking about regarding the black tape covering the lower right corner of the screen. I removed it, and there is possibly another pic in later pages.

Were the valves shimmed to within spec when the head was rebuilt? That could be one thing causing the ticking. Also, I noted you said it was on the intake side, and therefore it could easily be just the fuel injectors, and they have been known to emit a rather loud ticking when operational.

I bet this guy's RHD tyte project ended up in the junkyard when he either realized he couldn't finish and had fucked the car up too much, or ran out of money/willpower.
I'm almost certain there isn't. On my digi there are provisions for an auto, however they were covered with black tape, obviously because the car equiped with my cluster was a 5spd and therefore didn't need the lights D R etc.. It would be far cheaper to use the same main board and simply do...
Ya, I'm with Jono in the confused area. VVTI and the 7mge engine platform have never been together, and unless you're a miracle worker they never will. The VVTI is a system that adjusts the valve timing depending on different factors given to the computer about your throttle, speed etc... it's a...
