I'm in the same position. I have the emanage/e-01 hooked up but am thinking about the maft-pro. I have the e-01 working perfectly but I like how the maft-pro gets rid of the maf sensor. I want to find someone who has had both in their car. I'm just so tired of working on this car. I just want it...
My car is off the road for the winter but I'm trying to figure out whats wrong with it when I put it back on in the spring. Sometimes I'll try to start my car and it will just stall. Sometimes it will start but as soon as I even touch the gas it will stall. Sometimes its rich, sometimes its...
I have a lex afm that I put my old electronics in but never tried out the lex electronics because I heard they dont work. Is this true??
Thanks for the site shaeff
No, I never cleaned it with anything. I was just about to pull in my driveway from a 1/2 hour ride and it started bucking. I didnt beat on it. In fact I never beat on my car just because I want to be able to drive it for atleast 2 months straight without a problem. I had a similar problem but it...
It's starting to get a little annoying. I stop some where after I get off the gas and it goes rich and stalls. Not even going fast. Now my car is throwing code 31 and idles irratically. Vacuum was checked, connection was checked. How is it exactly that you check if the afm is good. Also if...
Just the nights are getting colder. Low 50's. After work when I start it (mid to low 70's) I hear nothing. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt going to have a problem on my hands. I'm glad I asked. I will also check the belt just incase. Thanks
Since its gotten cold out my power steering has been acting up in the morning. It sounds like its studdering...... like it has no/low fluid(its filled correctly). And this is happening when its warming up and not moving. Is my power steering pump kicking the bucket? 130,000 miles
About the rod knock.... Dont count on that sound as being that. I put my car up on jack stands and found out that the sound was comming from the clutch/flywheel area. I've acctualy been meaning to find out what the sound is but I thought it was just my car. Anyone have a clue?
I'm not...
Ive done everything to a car except an internal rebuild. Sorry, I'm just a little skeptical when it comes to a car that I put so much time and money into just to go to waste because I was .0010 off. I think I should be as concerned as I am because I've never rebuilt before. So shoot me
I'm not going to have a problem disassembling it. I'm worried about the specs on the rebuild. I keep reading threads about people rebuilding and then come to find out that they have rod knock.
Does a machine shop install rod bearings and rings and then put them on the crank (spec work)or do...

I am looking to do a rebuild and was wondering what is recommended? I'm around 375 whp(and staying there) and now want straight reliability. I know the obvious of metal head gasket and decking but I need to know the other stuff.

At idle I'm aroud 40 on the oil pressure gauge at warm up. It also seems as though my boost has gone up about 2 psi. I have the greddy e-01 boost controller and emanage and didnt change the boost setting.
I just read something on supra forums about the oil pan being pressureized and blowing out the rings. On my car the oil drain plug keeps leaking oil out of it plus the braided lines are leakingt out of the fittings. I never had that problem before. Could that mean that the pcv is clogged and...
I have my old turbo that was ok but I am just no in the mood to pull my turbo out for the thrid time this year. I could try that but the turbo was rebilt 3,000 miles ago.
Why would a clogged pcv system blow blue smoke? Is it because of the build up of pressure cause excessive blow by on the...
Will do. I'm just getting as many opnions as I can so I can get rid of the simple ones before I start ripping out heads and motors. I just want this thing to stop giving me problems. Even if its for a little bit.
