I got a JDM motor from Makoto here in gardena, worked perfect, car pulled like a demon...
It's now doing duty in AJ's car, no problems that I know of..
looks like the mirror melted..
USDM mirrors are all plastic, others have a flexible rubber-like substance, not sure why, but that's how my euros are...
ohh, thanks for the info, Jeff..
I was sorta dreading an R154 swap because I thought the gearing was so different and it'd affect my acceleration. I was planning a differential swap to maybe a 3.91 so I could have some of the benefits of the 4.30 and some of the 3.73, but now I know..:naughty:
I love my CF hood, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY lighter than stock, my hood shocks had to be removed otherwise my CF hood would shoot up..!
I have hood pins, but I leave the latch for security/extra insurance...
the w58 isn't bad, it has shorter gearing and shifts much smoother..
I have a 7MGTE with a W58, love the shorter gearing, but hate the fact that it'll only handle about 400hp before going kablooey..
my targa rattles and squeaks like a can full of nails and mice, but I wouldn't have it any other way...
well, I could do without the leaks, but yeah.....:D
if you look at my 1st post in this thread, I told him to recirculate it, and it's done that way for a reason, I understand why it stalls and what can be done to correct it. I also posted an alternative to it.
Do you have a targa tool..?
it's like $15 for both pieces brand new for Toyota. Also you need to tighten it in order, and on a level surface and if necessary, re-tighten it after a few miles of driving..
Lazy no, when my engine was finished getting swapped I took it for a test drive and it stalled in the parking lot of the shop (kaizen). Jose told me it would stall unless I recirculated it or got a stand alone.
I figured I was fucked, stalled atleast 8 times on the way home, cursing my new...
you don't need to recirculate it, mine isnt, but you DO need to change the way you drive. You need to down shift and engine brake until your RPMs are low enough (around 2500), not to be boosting and clutch in...
