Are the 7m-gte clutches the same as GE, I mean Could you put a turbo Clutch on a non turbo Trans?

I have a 7MGTE with a W58, love the shorter gearing, but hate the fact that it'll only handle about 400hp before going kablooey..
Jeff Lange;1260915 said:Actually gears 2 and 3 on the R154 are shorter than the W58, only 1 and 5 are taller, and only by a very small margin. Gear 4 is obviously the exact same between the two.
If you actually look at percentage difference between gear shifts on the 2 transmissions, you'll also find that they are VERY similar. The main difference between the 2 cars is the differential gearing.
You'll find that the R154 has closer ratios between gears on 3 of the gear changes, compared to the W58, which is only closer on the 1-2 shift by 3%. The 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5 shifts on the R154 are closer percentage wise than they are on the W58. Of course with the 4.3 in the N/A, everything feels a lot closer, but throw that behind an R154 and you'd find the same thing.
