    7M meet Technology!

From the looks of that(TRD Design) they did not take any depth at all but as you can still see the casting mark in the bottom(that circle in the bottom of the bow.) That design is very close to the 2J design just with that tip between the two intake valves left behind. Obviously there is a...

    7M meet Technology!

Yea I was reading that people say cutting the block is best. Was just a thought though because once the head is chucked up the setup is almost nothing to do something like that as you would know! but thanks for the help. Seth

    7M meet Technology!

Hey Rich or IJ, Would be worth it to O-Ring the head? Setup to machine that would be nothing once the head is already in the machine! Seth

    7M meet Technology!

2J CNC Head: Matching pistons: Wonder if there are flat top pistons in production currently for the 7M? Rich you have probably come across them or had them made for that matter! Seth

    7M meet Technology!

Hey IJ, Yea we were talking about this the other day. I thought about doing this to a head and then cutting it up into pieces to allow me to see danger areas. As I mentioned right now the goal is to just remove enough material to remove the casting inconsistencies which is about .050". As...

    7M meet Technology!

Well I did a cylinder tonight! Going to take a little reworking. Will have to use a smaller radi bit to get into the tighter corners and have a coupe programing issues to iron out but looking promising: Seth

    7M meet Technology!

Thanks guys, depending on how things go tonight I will try it out on a head! @Rich.... What do you think about putting a radius on the top sharp edge as well straight lining that peak in between the valves? I assume it is just there to reduce volume and keep compression up? Or does it have an...

    7M meet Technology!

More then anything....Real goals are: 1) Remove all the casting, completely smoothing the bowl 2) Make every bowl identical Increase in bowl size is minimal with roughly on .050" being removed, although I may have to go a bit deeper to remove all the casting. Seth

    7M meet Technology!

Well since I am a die hard 7M man I am always looking for ways to better these beasts and here is my first step at some high tech head work: Let me know what you think and all your head gurus tell me what is best in modifying the cylinder head bowl. Basically all I a have done is...

    Welding Aluminum

Diversion 165 is a very good machine but a little light. You will definitely need to pre-heat material 1/2" or thicker like when making an intake manifold. But TIG is so much nicer and so much cleaner then MIG. Even when we are doing a project that could be migged I will TIG it a lot of times...

    Cool/Rare parts thread?

Are you referring to me? There is an intercooler look in the pictures at the bottom of my post. The intercooler is to cool the charge before it goes in the motor. There is no intercooler between the two turbos, one because there is no room obviously but two why cool the air and then reheat it...

    Compound 7M, first and only?

Yea thats what I thought to, new injectors are already on the way! Really weird though since they are a set of precision's and only have about 10K on them! Anyways time for some bigger ones anyways! Seth

    Compound 7M, first and only?

Thanks guys! Sean we can agree to dissagree, not the first time. Yea it will take some effort to make the setup work right but for what I want in drivability and street power. Also anyone can do what you said, this is a good chance for me to show my skills and do something no one else has...

    Compound 7M, first and only?

Hey mate! Naw no stock setup going back on this bad boy way to much work to switch it all back. It will just get a zero boost break in on a long road trip. It has a decent tune from before but it will get a 500mile break in and then go straight to the dyno for the pump tune and meth/water...

    Compound 7M, first and only?

Some HQ photos for you guys, will have the motor apart this weekend to start over! Started off with 8psi worth of springs in both but will determine that all after I get it back together and dynoed. Thanks, Seth

    Compound 7M, first and only?

Thanks guys! Well not so good news. The motor went boom. No idea what went wrong, maybe plugged injector. Was just doing some intial driving around and setting up the boost controllers. Never even got to boost over 12psi. But the thing spools wicked fast! Anyways time for forged...

    Compound 7M, first and only?

Yea definitely tight fitting. I will remake it at a later time because I think I bent it around more then it really needed to. Although it is 3.5" so it will flow plenty! Thanks guys! Seth ---------- Post added at 06:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:55 PM ---------- Hey Tom!! Yea...
