    torque converter

I was only giving that example to Zby67 for a manual tranny's relation to stall speeds... Obviously a auto has many more differences then a manual.

    torque converter

With a stick your left foot is the torque converter, press in the clutch and rev the engine to desired rpm range then let go. Manual transmissions use a flywheel and clutch instead of a TC.

Why are stronger rod bolts required as horsepower is increased?

Why leave a weak link? Chances are if you upgrade the rods you have to replace the bolts anyway. Also there is duty to consider, the longer you stay at higher rpms the more wear. Casual driving with a bit more hp on oem bolts might not be an issue. Constantly hearing the rev limiter in...

    Disturbing the peace

Everyone has a different issue... I idle my car for a good 5 mins at 10:30pm almost every night (and its loud) right next to my neighbors house before i go to work. He has never said one thing to me about it, but the other day I was burning yard waste and i used some newspaper to start the...

    confusing overheating issue!!!!

By mirror finish he means that the roughness index (RA) is so low flat/smooth that it looks like a mirror, which is done by taking material off the block and head at a shop. Remember to have them do it with the timing cover on, and then buy a MHG the right size to make up for the difference of...

    A Teens mk3 build,15 years old

In general you wont need a dyno/tune untill you start messing around with piggy backs or stand alone ecu's. Yes using a manual boost controller will give you some more power, and yes it will help you destroy your engine faster. No offence, but with as little as you seem to know about these...

    A Teens mk3 build,15 years old

Assuming nothing is wrong with your 7mtge (lol) you could use a manual boost controller (under 30 bucks) to get the boost up to 12-14 psi depending on the condition of the engine, altitude, so on. Again that is as long as the engine is in good condition and you re-torqed, fixed, or already have...

    Code 14?!

I highly doubt it was the oil. Was the engine running well before you swapped it? Or was it used and you never saw it run till now?
