Usually the spring has compressed too far... Get it open, then pull the spring out until it should have more force and try it again.

Ya, must admit, I like the clock too... it's really deep to try to mount in the dash, too. I don't think you could put it in the gauge cluster without sticking out the front by quite a bit. Could go in the center console locations though.

Many of them will not arm if you open the car doors, hatch, and hood before putting the connections back on the battery. Does it actually activate the siren, or just refuse to start? If it activates a siren, try turning the ign on and off quickly 10 times, that should shut up a compustar...

Well, the two in the first pic are for the stock smallish efans, controlled by, IIRC, the AC circuit and ... damn. Something that appears to have fled from my memory at the moment.

It could be, and checking it is quite simple - when you are getting only 11v, open the hood and put a voltmeter from the alternator output to the alternator ground. If the alternator is the problem, there will only be 11v showing - if there is still 13+ at the alternator, the problem is further...

The big reason is typically room... anyone running a FFIM, whether aftermarket on a 7M or stock / aftermarket on a jz engine, wants the battery area for intercooler piping. This. Eliminate the alternator by checking it is actually putting out 14 when those accessories are on. Then go back...

I've had the same luck with all the engines I've rebuilt - jz, m series, even my old 22r in my Celica. Once it's been rebuilt properly, it's good for many years to come, with the understanding that it gets the maintenance required.

Trust me when I say the 'faster and faster' thoughts eventually top out. My car as it sits now is capable of going MUCH faster than I am willing to drive it.

I think you'll find these polls don't help worth a shit. :) It's your car, pick what you like. To hell with the rest of us, and that includes your brother. OTOH, IMNSHO, gunmetal, or any other dark rims for that matter, only look good on semi gloss / flat black as the stealth gimmick...

LOL - that depends on who you are and whether you do it right the first time. The maintenance on my 2j car is significantly less than my brand new Honda Minivan.
