Thanks, I can't wait to see some numbers from your build(s)!
lol thanks man, but I never did hit 700 tho. I could do it, i honestly don't want to. 650+ is absolutely useless most of the time.
LOL, that's Jen. You probably already figured it out by the time you joined the forum.. but shes taken lol. Her BF is a really cool guy. That evos their track car.
valve springs and retainers should be the same? I'm not HIV possitive though.
Shims are the same
cams are different
GTE= intake cam 1* off, have pickups for head mounted CPS. exhaust cam has no gear for distributor
GE cams= exhaust cam has gear for distributor; peaky & torquey...
They're 7's. I replaced them with new and the motor runs a little better but it's still missing.
I did a valve adjustment while the head/cams were out. The plugs are all firing, and it does start up and run. It just doesn't pull any vac. at all.
I started to measure the clearance of the...
The same head, cams, everything.. but they were over .01" out of spec. hopefully I just idd the math wronggggg.. blah.
Plugs are also fouled, maybe that could be doing it? It has a terrible miss. Timing is all good.
Yea man, I'll be there. Hit me up.
The supra has me stumped, it's getting spark and fuel.. that only leaves comression :(. I hope I just did my math wrong for the valve shims.
TWED shows the 6 wires, the BR X2 (12v hot w/ fuel pump), and the 4 wires coming from the ECU (grounds for signal).
Since the BR wires are spliced together it doesn't matter which goes to which pin.
Like stated above, the rods are the same, and the pistons are made of the same special cast material with very beefy ringlands.
The oil pressure switch hole size actually depends on the year, not GE vs GTE.
Crank angle sensor also depends on the year, not GE vs GTE (95+ GE's have a crank...
got your message,
The water temp sensors are underneath the intake manifold runners on the front of the head.
From front to back it's ECU temp sensor / gauge sensor. The 7M sensors will thread right in.
I know it's a long shot but try another ECU?
Edit: and also make sure that the wire isn't grounding out anywhere.. I know you made sure you had continuity, but did you make sure you didn't have continuity when unplugged?
Thats what I was thinking, the only thing that I can think of that would change would be the temperature, when those cold start enrichments are off they throw everything off..
