    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Mike, it is a bad ass cut out. Just not sure I can justify the $500 it would cost with the solenoid and Hobbs switch. Might not be a bad idea to simply run the setup I have for now. See how loud it is with the 4" to the cat back and my now pretty much blown out resonator. Sean is going to weld...

Here's the latest upgrade for Sean's build. It's his, once my exhaust is set to go on my build. It shouldn't take long. He also has a Lexus AFM, now just needs those 7500cc injectors and he's pretty set. Gonna be interesting with 750s, Lexus AFM, and e-85

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Turbo exhaust housing came in today, 1.32 a/r with 4" outlet cut for a v-band, turbo blanket, damn, its thick and nice. Great deal on it. I also have a pic of the difference between 3" and 4" exhaust, plus pic of flex section. Gonna be interesting once we have her back up and...

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

I might just get the electonic cut out offered by Sound performance, we will see. The housing just showed up today. Will have it on as soon as sean gets back from up north. not by tomorrow for track night.

Looking good Steve. It will be interesting to see how they work out for you.

Move me up. I was disappointed with only 579 rwhp. When I re-dyno in a month or so, will be jumping up a few more notches. My turbo exhaust housing and 3" exhaust seem to be the limiting factor. This will be corrected real soon.

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Sent the turbo housing back to Comp yesterday. The new one will be 1.32 A/R with 4" outlet, v-band set up. Joe (owner of Comp) gave me a smoking good deal on it, plus another great deal on a turbo blanket. After a lot of searching, the plan is to do a 4" down pipe, 4" back to the Greddy cat back...

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

4" stuff has been bought. Got a decent 4" take off system from a Dodge truck. It has all the bends we should need. Sean will fabricate early next week. I do know Adam. Can't match his spending though.

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Good work Sean. Think it may have had anything to do with low out put on the dyno? My feeling is no. She ran good until we got to Brainerd.

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

I sent a text to DaveH followed by an email with all the specifics. If anyone knows these motors, Dave's the man. Gary thinks it's not the exhaust but something else. Perhaps it is the housing. I will post up when I hear back from Dave.

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Sean pulled off the cat back and told me that there is no restriction inside it. So it has to be the turbo housing or just plain too small of tubing. New exhaust housing gets ordered tomorrow. I am going with the biggest a/r that they have, that and 4" piping.

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

When Shane was putting her through the tune, she seemed to drop off right around 6900, so I think that's why he stopped. I do have the graph. I thought I should be able to go higher with the springs as well. Let's get some feedback here.

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Steve, I think you did a better wrap job than Gary and I did. Nice work. BTW, will my Comp exhaust housing only fit onto another Comp turbo. I wanted to trade mine in but they wont take it back. I will probably try to sell it on Supraforums.

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Steve, she really pretty much topped out at 7k. Not sure if it was the restriction or if it was the cam timing. We didn't play with it. I wish now we would have unbolted the cat back and just ran the down pipe. Even with a larger a/r we should still do pretty good with the spool valve...

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Rob, when we were there dynoing, Shane pulled up my last years dyno results with spool valve working. Boost comes on about 600 or so rpm quicker. Once we have the actuator and the 4 inch housing, along with exhaust. I bet she returns to that rpm. I originally wanted 264 cams but when Sean found...

Sean, I can sell you a slightly used greddy resonator if you need one. :naughty:

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Today's update: Sean and I pulled the Supra to DB Performance and had Shane dial her in. I am happy that we didn't break anything, but unhappy we didn't make more power. I had expected in the 725-750 range. According to Shane, my 3" exhaust and 1.0 A?R on the turbo aren't big enough. Here's the...

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Jeremy, at this point I am not sure. It won't be too bad though. The piping is getting a bit rusty, so you might want to go with new. The muffler itself is in pretty good shape. The resonator in front of it is pretty shot. Its probably been on the car for over 20 years. We might have to start an...

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Yes, it did come with a cat, but that has long since been removed. The resonator is whats rusting through now. Once we get the 3.5 one made, she will be up for grabs. I like the way it sounds, quiet, yet powerful sounding rumble. I would take one in 3.5 if made, except it would be real expensive.
