    Crower or Pauter rods?

I have Pauter rods, and they have been robust to say the least. The customer service is excellent too compared to any other supplier I've worked with. (They actually listened to me, gave good advice, and then did what they said they would do in a reasonable amount of time.) My block has more...

    7m-gte crank specs

Far as I know, the 7MGTE came with either a 6m crank, or 7m crank. The 6m crank is only counter-weighted on part of the rod throws, while the 7m crank is fully counter-weighted. Is that what you are looking for? If not, hit up the TSRM for basic data, but since every engine is unique...

    Total Seal Piston Rings

I have no personal experience with Total Seal rings, but I do know that most ring problems on new/freshly rebuilt motors with ring sealing problems is due to gentle break in routines of the motor. The rings use the cross hatch pattern to cut them to fit to each bore. That sharp cross hatch...

how much can be removed safely from a 7m block before i run into issues

Why mill the pistons? Just do the machine work, and buy a Metal Head Gasket that is the right thickness to get back what you lost. If the gasket is slightly too small of a bore for your motor, have the shop clamp it inbetween the tourqe plate and the block, and then bore for the pistons. (You...

    Oil pump shimming

I agree on the AZ supply line. It removes the banjo bolt/fitting setup, and improves flow. For the shim, I used a 10mm nut. (It works fine, and since it's just one thing, it's slightly less difficult to keep track of while you are doing this job. Also, it's about 5mm thick, slightly more if I...

    New 7M Build....

As noted, there is no shim kit for the head. The machine shop will need to re-use the shims you have, or order the ones that are the right size when it's all done. As I've said in your PM, I'd reccomend replacing your stock valve springs with CompCams ones. They are a great deal. New springs...

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

Last time I checked at WalMart, bought two WWB 9mm 100's, and two Federal .223's for about 74.00... Nothing else has been around lately.. Local Sportsmans Wherehouse has some limited 9mm and .223, but they want 19 to 29 per 20 for the .223, and about the same for 50 9mm in tricked out moly...

Vote with your feet in CA. Move away from the Liberal laws. (Of course, the way this current government is going, it's all going to be like CA soon..) Then it's all going to end as a country if the Russian guy is right.

I really like the Crimson Trace laser grip design. I just about bought a laser guide rod for my PT99, but at 3 bills and change, decided to keep that pistol iron sights, and as my .22 conversion gun, and bought a new M&P9 with the CTC grip. So far, really like the M&P, and the laser is...

    6 pot willwoods won't clear 19"s

I choose the wheels I have based on them fitting the brakes, and that they are very light weight. (Your 0Z's are about 30+lbs each, these are about 17lbs.) That is quite a bit of unsprung weight. Mine are 18's, but the spoke design allows for much more clearance. Interesting to see there...

    The Lightest Pistons, Hands Down

Light pistons are good, but just buy the best rods possible, and don't worry about it. ;) Pauter rods will work with any pistons available, regardless of the weight, or your planned RPM goal for the 7M based engine. (Within reason of the bore and stroke possible on this motor.) I have 84mm...

I second the M&P, with the CTC grip of course. (Is a very sanitary package on this pistol, the backstrap is the laser sight.) I have the "medium" sized 9mm version with the CTC grip. (Just slightly less concealable than the compact, but hey, for a guy my size, I can conceal a full size auto...

    combustion chamber "squish pads"

I smoothed mine, and have both the head and piston crowns coated with thermal barrier ceramic coating. Keeps the heat in the chamber where it does you good, and out of the head and piston where it can cause problems. Also limits, or prevents hot spots as the coating spreads out heat better...

    building a second motor

Other than shimming the oil pump shaft.. not possible. You shim the oil pump bypass. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you, but it should be a good build. Do not know that you need billet mains. The standard caps hold up pretty well with the ARP studs. Head work totally...

    I'm thinking about putting a 2jz in a delorean.

Free, it would be a fun project. For the asking price of 3500.00? Did you mention that even if you could go 88mph and see some serious shit, that there's no way the flux capacitor survived the fire? What were you thinking future boy! LOL

    Hyundai Genesis.

If that 4cyc turbo is a Mitsu Evo motor, it's going to be a very fun car to modify. (300rwhp easy, and there will some some poking around with 400+ out there in a few years.) The 3.8 V6 is not a bad engine either. (It is the same basic engine that's in my wife's Sedona van, and it works...

    who drive what in snow

For many years, have driven my 98 A8 in the snow. Just bought a replacement, so the MK3 and the 98 A8 are up for sale. Replacement? It's a absolutely like brand new, 13,840 miles on the odom, 2004 Audi A8L. (Yes, I did not really think I wanted the L as they are 5" longer, and it's all...

stage III clutch and thrust bearings

I think the thrust bearing wear issue is really there at start up. I pre-lube my engine, so even pushing in the clutch, the thrust bearings are being oiled as the entire crank is floated on better than 30psi of oil film. My thrust bearings are also molydisulfied coated, so they retain oil...

PTE 780cc Injectors, anyone using these?

I think these are the same ones I have. 780cc Delphi injectors, the body is turned on a lathe to fit our fuel rail/head design. They are low inpedance, and the TCCS fires them fine. Idle is fine. I'm pulling 42% off the mainscale to make them work. (So if you do not have a way to...

Maft-pro and boost cut issues (logs/settings/mods included)

I have not made any timing changes yet, but in theory, the MaftPro will allow us to adjust timing while sending the modified Hz rate signal for aiflow to the TCCS to fire the injectors. I have mine wired up to not only monitor timing, but control it as well from what I have read. (Again, I...
