Good find! That car just needs a little love to be great again. I'd lose those wheels though. A little elbow grease, paint and it will look good again.
I just put mine back together and had the same problem. I don't have a picture but the ecu mounts in the upper left hand side of the glove box with the plugs facing towards the outter side of the car. That would be when mounted the plugs will be on the right side of the ecu. Hope this helps.
There's a couple of junkyards in Fort Worth that I frequent and the manager told me he will not crush any supra. He said there is always somebody coming to pick something off of them. I guess when they get down to bear metal he might but I appreciated his appreciation for supras.:icon_bigg...
I'm so jealous. I would love to just cruise down the freeway in it. My first car was a 1978 Caprice Classic.
Swap a 700r4 tranny into it and you can get about 20 mpg or better. Old TH350's and 400's don't have the lock up torque converters so having an extra gear will help.
You can wad that list up and throw it in the trash. All you need is a Texas boy and I'm that guy. Everything's bigger and better in Texas!:naughty:

I'm hoping my ears deceive me but in that first video at the 42 second mark, I could swear as you rev it I hear it knocking. I can hear it some also in the second video.
You for sure have vacuum leak. Get another gasket.
Now someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that hissing sound is fuel being squirted in through you cold start injector and that is why you smell so much gas.
Other than being green, it's a cool car. Those old boats are smooth. If it's going to be your DD, don't mess with it. Just drive it. You've already got a project.
But the starter was just fine on the other engine and with the other harnesses (body and engine). I can't see how it could just go bad between engines. :3d_frown::dunno:
I put the starter and cable on with the engine out, IIRC I checked that.
