A couple quick questions regarding HG process...

Its already put together though. Can I take the head back off if I already torqued the HG down? I already put mad stuff back on. Like fuel, cams, vacuum lines, etc. MOTHERFU..... Wooo I love being told 10 hrs. after I started working on it that all the stuff I just did needs to be taken back...

A couple quick questions regarding HG process...

shit in one hand and want in the other? I don't get it. Spelling mistake? EDIT: Are ya'll saying the head is probably warped? Or just could be warped. I don't want to put everything together and then ya'll say it's probably/definitely warped.... I interpreted what everyone said as a "maybe"...

A couple quick questions regarding HG process...

Haha. Yeah I guess it does. The valves all look ok then? I think IJ peaced out because I'm not taking the head back off and taking it a machine shop... Oh well, I don't blame him.

A couple quick questions regarding HG process...

...so its bad if I already put the new HG in and its torqued down already. If the head is warped there then what? It's gonna BHG again?(duh) Even if the ARP's are torqued to the right spec this time and retorqued? Could they possibly straighten the head back out if needed? (Dumb question...

A couple quick questions regarding HG process...

You think it warped maybe? Ok here's some overall specs: -Last time I did the headgasket was around ~2000miles ago. -Went with an Ebay HG and ARP studs. -Sent the head out to get cleaned and checked for flatness. -No retorque. When the HG blew again: -It didn't over heat AT ALL. I got to it...

A couple quick questions regarding HG process...

You're right, Ian. I didn't retorque it and that is hopefully the reason it blew... A brand new OEM one from Champion Toyota is now tightened down to 85 ft lbs with ARP studs. After 3-5 heat cycles I'll for sure go back in and retorque it. Then I'll do it after 500 miles.

A couple quick questions regarding HG process...

    1. Replaced the HG with e-gay oem and ARP studs in January. All was good up until the end of May when the car was showing signs of another BHG. So today I finally got the head off and what do I find? No blown headgasket. BUT I used the torque wrench to remove the studs and the studs between 5...

    Turbofreak's 1992 Poopra (Update 3/16/08)

So the HG wasn't even blown... ...I'll have pics up later. I did find that the two studs in between #5 and #6 and one other one next to them were pretty loose... All the others were a lot tighter. Think that is what it was? Here's where its at right now:

LOL. I work at a niceee ass golf course(+$100 for a round) and get free golf but I CANNOT hit a golf ball if it were to save my life... It sucks. My best friend (and co-worker) though can hit under par almost every time, he's going places...

    Turbofreak's 1992 Poopra (Update 3/16/08)

Show me where it was proven the stock HG itself is the general fault in 7M engine design. Read up more dude. Its the 54 ft. lbs. that they are torqued to from the factory. Wayyyy too low. And I'm not setting my self up for a headache 'cause this motor isn't staying here for too long. Just...

    Turbofreak's 1992 Poopra (Update 3/16/08)

First, a little update. Head should be off tomorrow, if I don't go to the beach. This build isn't exciting, I know, but at least I keep ya updated right?(At least the select few that are bored enough to venture in here.) Currently: I put the oil in a container to see if the coolant would rise...

    $900

And if you can find all that stuff for $900 then you are a better man than I am. I'd personally do a Cometic MHG and ARP studs.
