After ECU two I got tired of not only finding M/T ecus but having to shell out $200-250 each..... ditched it for AEM v II to save me on dealing with the aging computers.
Fuel cut is based off of a lot of things, I use to hit fuel cut on my 7m at around 10psi. As for a lip just search around the fs section or buy after market from shin auto or something
I've been seeing a lot of issues lately with 1J motors, I have one myself and I've been dealing with trying to fix it from the other side of the world.
I would get a 1J.... full gasket kit from Driftmotion..... consider replacing valve stem seals while the motor is out.... the only real thing that sucks about the 1J is the ceramic turbines as they can blow over time (Or over boosting too high).
My car is on the other side of the world and sounds bad. So far I've replaced ECU, Coil packs, Ignition computer, and a bunch of other stuff....

I imagine by itself it wouldn't help enough to notice, but having a turbo blanket, using some reflective gold tape for intake pipe and intercooler pipes might help enough.
I don't think it would be turbo related as it would be more than 2 cylinders. I would do a compression test to rule out the worn rings and if that passes than more than likely it's valve stem seals. How many miles are on the motor? If you do end up doing the stem seals you can see if people...
