I am having the same problem with my TPS and I would like your input on adjusting the TPS. What did you insert between the throttle lever and the stop screw?
My car is idling quite high. Around 15-1700.
I went out and looked again and when the linkage is not being touched there is a gap...
Ok, I will verify that I had my AC off when I pulled the codes and then I will set about fixing the TPS issue if it is still there. I think I am going to go clear the codes and see what all comes back.
Can you link me to these tutorials. My code list reads a lot like yours with my fresh MAFT-Pro install. I have:
5 1 I think mine might be the A/C since I removed the compressor. No idea on this one though.
5 2 - I plan on doing the knock sensor rewire. I know my knock sensors are good.
2 4 -...
They are Mk4 fitment but not actual Mk4 mats. I don't like mine. There is a link in the Misc vendor section to a lady who makes excellent floormats to whatever specs you want. If you can't find it, I think Jugodegolf made the thread.
In other news, IT RUNS!!!! It's loud as hell and my power...
IT RUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to thank everybody for their help in diagnosing this. JetJock, you were right. It was the main relay but the reason it wasn't closing is that a wire was cut on the harness. Fixed that and it started right up. I did not change the pink power wire for the...
When you fixed it, did you replace it with the appropriate fusible link or just a large gauge wire? Do you know what the rating of the fusible link was? Is it possible to replace a fusible link with an inline blade type fuse?
Ok, wiring harness is back out of the car. Before I continue I want to state that this wiring harness is not mine. It came directly from a car that was hooked up and running a MAFT-Pro. I scanned the piece of paper I used in comparing my wiring harness connections to the ones found in this...

What you want to do is remove the cover on the CPS so you can see the rotor inside it move. Then line up your groove with the drilled mark. Now, take notice of the exact position of the rotor when these marks are lined up...
I have NFI what the hell he is on about. 10 degrees before top dead center is where it should be for stock timing. I don't even know what the O in his acronyn would stand for. You either have before or after.
A few years ago I installed a CPS off by a tooth. I was still able to set timing but it wasn't constant. It jumped around a lot. The car also ran but idled like hell. Just thinking that if you removed the CPS it's something I would check. So easy to reinstall it off just that little bit.
Have a look at my build thread. Everything changed. The car has not yet started since the car went back together. This is why I started by retracing my steps on the coil wiring. There might be an issue with the wiring done to the harness for the MAFT-Pro. I didn't do that personally. It was...
Lower underhood temps are always nice. I went with wrap on my manifold but if I had the money at the time I would have done both ceramic and the wrap. I like the black stuff because it has a higher heat rating and the chrome stuff tends to go to a flat silver.
Ok, the main relay in the fuse box is functioning correctly. This is about all the time I have for this problem today unless I take a break from studying later. It seems like the problem is likely to be with the ECU or its wiring so I am thinking it's time to pull all the wiring out from the...
Did the basic continuity test and it seemed to check out fine. I was having trouble figuring out which pins were which. The label on the relay is not very clear and the TSRM picture doesn't realy help either.
EDIT: Fresh eyes and a bigger screen helped. Checked the basic continuity test and it...
When power is jumped directly to the Fp on the diagnostic block, the fuel pump relay buzzes. Unless I am missing something obvious I should probably check the relay to make sure it's still functioning alright.
EDIT: Guess I will be checking the main relay.
