Weight distribution is exactly why I'm moving everything to the rear seat area. Think along the lines of how the RX7 and 300z 2-seaters were setup, with a flat floor in the hatch / rear seat area. Nothing will be exposed, and I avoid the pendulum effect that having weight behind the rear axle...

So - what's everyone got planned for the holidays?

You know Kai, I can't say I recall how to make turkey that isn't dry. Probably all in how it is cooked and most folks do it in such a way that dries it out? As for my holidays, as much as I'd like to go visit my family a few states away, my fiance doesn't have the time off, and neither of us...

MKIII- Carbon Fiber Regulus Nose Panel: Interest Of Group Buy

I dunno if Noel is even around the Supra scene anymore, which is unfortunate. The work he did getting some nice carbon hoods for the Mk3 to the market was a good sign in my book. Would be nice to have this Regulus panel replicated again, with a high level of quality. I might even buy one...

Ten years ago today... I became a first time Supra owner

Kind of a milestone day for me guys. Ten years ago, December 7th, 2005, I dragged home my first Supra, an 88 NA hardtop auto. Was super clean overall, I only say "dragged" home, because it was -25 (as in, twenty five degrees below zero) that morning, and the radiator had exploded when the...

It also makes an appreciable improvement in sound deadening for those road trips, versus removing the seat entirely. I haven't 100% decided what I'm doing with the back seat area of mine yet. I know the bottom cushion area is going to be where the battery, fuse box, sub & amp, water methanol and...

Important thing to consider for cage design, is that none of the bars are likely to contact anybody's head in the event of contact. Alternatively, make your passengers wear helmets, it's a lot of fun! :)

Pretty sure Toyota made the back seat useless from the factory. :p In seriousness though, I had a cage and a back seat in my 89. While not exactly ideal for people with legs, you can get by in a pinch, even with a cage. I don't recommend sitting around unpadded cage bars for obvious reasons...

Good idea to bead roll them if at all possible. As for working with an elbow coupler, attach the connecting strap in a way to act like the bottom of a triangle, from the side you can access. Might have to do both sides, but I think it would work. Also, constant torque clamps work wonders for...

Ahh, that would do it. If I were more handy with a welder (heh, who am I kidding, more like handy at all haha!), I would secure my intercooler pipes like the Group A cars were set up. They had a threaded bung welded onto each end of the piping, outside of the coupler / clamp areas. Piece of...

Chunks, there is something about the sound of your car man, I like it. Question for you though. Your ET's and 60's are all somewhat close, yet your last pass is around 10mph slower, although it was your best ET by far, across all the traps. Did you let off, or have any other idea on what caused...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

Well done man! Car looks great there on the lawn. So... what are the odds of you bringing this car to Supras In Vegas in late September / early October?

    TE7mgte to TE71jz build

I'm sure it's obvious to the starter of this thread, but I wholly approve of this build. Both as a JZ owner and a former TE72 owner (hence the screen name), I love it. :)

Dude you must be ripping those tires off on your launch, to be running that trap speed. Once you get the clutch sorted, and some practice with your 60', I could see low 11's on a good run for you. :) As for me, my second time to the track was this past Sunday at LVMS for Supras In Vegas. Ran 3...

I have to ask, what IS that car? Adapting a 7m to a 4wd system, that's really cool. :)

Sounds like the roads where I live. Congrats on the low 12, good job! If I can run a 12 this year, I'll be happy with myself. Absolutely no reason the car can't do it, other than being in about 500 pieces at the moment, but I've never run that quick personally.

    More Steering Angle for FREE

"The Mk3 is well known for having terrible, terrible steering angle, especially for a rwd car." That sure is a funny way of saying "The Mk3 has an excellent double wishbone suspension designed for good geometry rather than using a cheap, compact strut that compromises handling," if you ask...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

Thanks for the reply man, it's good to hear of someone else in similar shoes. I figure you're just a lot further along than I am. :) There's about one guy I trust to work on my car other than myself, but he is WAY busy, so I'm doing as much as I KNOW that I'm capable of. So far, the entire car...

I can certainly understand enjoying the car, nobody could blame you. If it doesn't NEED fixing, enjoy it! Hoping my car turns out as nice as yours, honestly. Question for you to that end... Where did you pick up the skills to put this car together? It seems to me that you did most all the work...

Glad to see some forward progress. I would think all that new stopping power should make those 120+ trap speeds a little less scary after crossing the beams, yes? Also, I'd just like to point out that yours is easily in my top 5 favorite cars on SM. Makes me happy every time I see it, even the...

standard steering wheel on air bag car

Safety first, make sure your battery is disconnected before attempting to remove the current, airbag equipped wheel. TSRM should have a procedure for doing it. As for making it work, shouldn't be anything particularly special. The 89-90 had a 3-spoke wheel with cruise controls on the wheel, the...
