Supra + Faye = Love. My first build thread. (beware, picture heavy...)

Sounds like a plan then. Between my old lady, myself, and her parent's car, we have a few sets of summer tires sitting in the basement. To have that many sets of wheels and tires when I was younger, ahhh... that would have been nice haha. But yeah, twice a year, I have a tire changing party...

    Let's see your setup

Rodel, I ran Polk db6501's in the front of mine, with KevinM brackets. Going to be running some Focal speakers I picked up off a friend a long time ago. Have Infinity Reference of some sort (I wanna say 6x8, or perhaps 6.5", it's been a few years) in Megan's Mazda3, they sound fantastic. I...

Supra + Faye = Love. My first build thread. (beware, picture heavy...)

Faye, I stumbled across your thread the other night while I was on here for something completely different. I'm very glad I did, just finished reading the whole thread from start to now. I must say, your perseverance and dedication are beyond admirable. Frankly, I've been in the Supra game for...

I miss the good old days

I know you and I haven't always seen eye to eye on a lot of things, but I'd be more than happy to give you a digital high five here. You earned it bud! For what it's worth, you will never see my ass on FB. ...and this explains why. It has its uses, telling a story is not one of them. You had...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

Good company you keep at that car show man, representing the old with the new. Add a 2000GT and maybe an R32-34, toss in an S2000 for fun, and you have quite the good spectrum. You know... I think I need to figure out how to make a similar picture happen. Probably not gonna happen around...

    Another black car.

Ken, cool as they are, I only really like them in theory. It's one of those cars that I would only personally buy if it had fairly high miles, for the simple fact that a car that's in the shop more often than not can't reach high mileage. ;)

Overheating problem on fresh 1jzgte vvti swap

Ever get this figured out? Other likely suspects: -Radiator is old and / or clogged. -Air is lazy. By this I mean you really need some ducting or shrouds to direct air through the radiator. Another potential idea, depending on the application, hood louvers.

    Another addition to the stable...

She's coming together! Congrats on all the progress bud. Let me get this straight though... you've put a 400+hp engine into a car, that fully ready to drive on the street, weighs about... 1700 lbs? You're my kinda gearhead haha.

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

Just wanted to pop in and say wow... for a home garage built car sir, you should be very happy with the result, and your skills acquired in building this. I actually came across a 77 Celica with an NA 7m halfway swapped in, relatively close, for cheap. I already have too many projects or I would...

Old guy with a great old ride--but you knew that part!

Radar, I'm not on here as much as I used to be at my old job, but I'd like to welcome you to the forum. Your car is beautiful, and I must say I admire a guy who sticks with a car for nearly 30 years, that's awesome. As for wheel suggestions, I believe Jay (Suprahero) has Work Equip wheels. They...

    What are you reading?

Damn near a year since the last post... kinda sad. Anyhow, wanted to point out my next read, Jupiter Symphony. It's by a fellow Supra owner, my buddy Andrew. http://www.acharrison.com/jupiter-symphony.html If you were ever into Heinlein or Deus Ex, it seems like it would be right up your alley. :)

    Back after a long hiatus

I know I'm a bit late to the discussion, but the thought of the facebook migration is a headache and a half for a guy like me. There will be no solid archiving of such pages, not to mention everything is just bam... all over the place. Forums, like many other things, have specific functions that...

Supras In Vegas (SIV) 2014 -Sept 19 to 21

I'll be there guys. Bringing the Miata though, since we've done pretty much nothing but tear the Supra apart this year... it's been a hectic year all around. See ya there! :D

A plate I had ordered for the 89 shortly after I got it: Wanna guess what happened about a day before the plates showed up? Yeah... don't tempt fate with a Supra. ;) ...but if it's what the DMV gave you without asking, that's beyond awesome.

    Limequat's 4.2l I6 Swap

10.3, not bad at all. Gives me hope for both my Supra build, as well as the Miata if/when I turbo that one... As for v-band connectors holding under boost, I don't see why they wouldn't. I've never measured the psi of exhaust gasses, but considering it's flowing through a 3+ inch pipe, there is...

2 duds with Federal Hydroshok .45

This is probably going to come across as a dumb question, but what do you do in such a situation? Pull the slide back to manually eject the round and move on? Assuming you're in a situation where you NEED the gun, not on the range where you have time to investigate.

Any other BMW owners here? Post Pics of your BMW...

^Wait, an unsolicited picture of a girl on a car forum? Lucky day... Car looks good too. Speaking of the M3, my old lady came across a silver one of that generation that she rather liked. I was a little surprised to be honest, I didn't think that she would have liked the styling of it. Cars...

    Limequat's 4.2l I6 Swap

I'm with T3rril79 man, you spin quite the tale... That "BANG" sounded pretty familiar to me. Hence why we'll be either v-banding the pipes together, or more likely just a weld-on bung and bracket setup like the old Group A cars used. Anyway, good to hear she's such a beast. No surprise...
