    hood blanket falling apart

If repair isn't economical, I recall one of the sound deadening brands had an under hood sheet, both to keep noise down and repel heat. Not sure which brand it was though...

    Bring the sexy back.

Oh come now, Rodel, you can't open a thread like this and not post something yourself? What have you done to the car in recent years? Has been since the last time you were at the Vegas event that I saw it last...

    Biggest tires possible without modding?

Lot of additional info needed to get a better idea of what you'll be able to run. Namely: -What is your suspension setup? Aftermarket coilovers often have a much skinnier spring diameter. This varies from one brand to another, as I found out a few years back when upgrading my suspension. I...

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) Track Event February 23-25, 2018

That's a pretty big buy in, but man... the chance to drive the same track they race F1 on? Bucket list worthy! :D

    Where did everyone go?

Pirate, you're exactly right man. Motivation goes a LONG way. Took me two years to get mine to where it is now, and the only time I was playing videogames was when it was too cold to comfortably work out in the garage. The other 8 or so months of the year... figure I was working 15-16 hour days...

I'm P.I.T.A. sorry but i appreciate it. Sensor placement need help,..PLEASE

One is for your ECU, the other is for your gauge cluster's temperature gauge. So long as they're both installed in the water neck, and the wiring plugs are plugged into them, mixing them up should not affect the results. That said, you should check to see if there are part numbers on the sensor...

1jz efr 7163 compressor surge at full throttle

Just wanted to say thanks for updating your post. Having a similar issue on my 1j, although with a completely different setup. This gives me some confirmation of ideas I had... Question then, did you give up any power in the mid range to get away from the surging? I'm thinking of setting my...

MK3 won't shut off after 2jzgte vvti swap

If you turn the key to the ON position, then turn it off, without starting the car, does anything else stay on? Just a shot in the dark here, but could be something in the ignition switch. That said, full disclaimer, I am not great at electrical troubleshooting, so good luck!

All Mk IV owners - please verify your vehicle info at thesupraregistry.com

Very cool idea, if I'm not mistaken there is something similar for the LFA. With the Mk4, low numbered as they are, you've still got your work cut out for you. Question... how will you account for cars that are no longer?

    Considering one of these

A bit late to the party, did you get anything like this yet? Couple years back I bought a Bendpak 7k lbs four post lift. Without it, I would not have been able to do my Supra the way I did. I did look into the quick jack initially. One of these quick jacks would have been sufficient for 95% of...

    Where did everyone go?

Well, in my neck of the woods, I'm still one of the only people with a Mk3. There is one other that I'm aware of that might someday see the outside world again, but who knows for how long. There was a super mint Mk2 in town, haven't seen it in some time now. There is also a Mk4 in town as well...

    Where did everyone go?

I'm still around, although considerably less active (online in general) than I was when I had a desk job and a long lunch break that was usually spent on here. Since then, I've sold the first house, had the second one built, built the Supra that I'd been collecting parts for (it's still a work...

You know what the best thing about facebook is though? All those build threads. Oh, and let's not forget the technical information that can be readily found, that's even better! Sarcasm aside, it's not a trophy to hang on the wall guys. If I made 1200hp revving mine to 15k and spinning tires to...

Thanks Tgood, that wagon is pretty rad. I have all SORTS of pics of my setup. Will be posting a build thread sometime this winter, just gotta finish a half dozen posts or so. Nothing too terribly exciting, just a whole lot of "here's how I did this," and "what not to do" haha. :)

Other than a fancy intake manifold, I don't see what else I could do to increase top end without sacrificing too much low end. Currently my band runs from about 3k to 7k, I wouldn't mind if it were shifted from 5k to 9k. Thing is, I wouldn't want to lose the effective range of the engine, as a...

No doubt it could set some records, but budget isn't there for a couple years unfortunately. Personally I would have no problem running it to 10k. It has solid mounts, so I would know pretty quickly if something wasn't feeling right. If it was perfectly balanced to over 9k though... I could see...

Dry sump on a Mk3 is a bit of a packaging nightmare unless you want the oil tank in the cabin somewhere. To do that safely though, you need a means of isolating the tank via bulkhead, just in case something horrible happens, you don't wanna be covered in hot oil on top of whatever already...

Second time I've ever had my car on a dyno, this time things were a bit different though: 1jz -fully built engine (BC264 cams, ported/polished, +1mm Naprec valves, shimless bucket conversion, Carillo rods, Wiseco 10:1 2j pistons (puts a 1j at 9.0 from what I understand), Twins Turbo dry sump...
