more than you ever wanted to know about wire

Very good post. I deal with almost all of those everyday. Hand ties (lace ties) are a pain to do. Very hard on your hands. They have coatings on them that causes your skin to dry up!! Especially when doing it for hi vib applications.

    JZ coils and standalone EMS's

Thanks, I think when I called MoTeC about the 2j coils, they said ~2ms. So the lesser the number the less time for the coils to recover, right? ~Ron Edit: according to MoTeC, when using CDI, there's no need for this, Dwell should be set to 1msec. That's why mine is set to 1.

    Motec TCMux

Yeah, you only use one dig input on the ecu and the sensors are all fed to the TC mux. Not sure about the drawback though. I have no issues with mine :)

What type of aftermarket knock detection do you use?

I was gonna go with J & S. It was recommended by Bob Norwood a while back. But now, I have to see how the MoTeC one is. Ron

1JZ places for tech/swap and parts

Hey, I was wondering if I can get some info. I have 1JZ-GTE VVTi. Are these parts the same as the ones from 2jz-GTE/GE VVTi? Intake cam gear assembly, mainly need the o-rings. Crank trigger wheel Intake/exhaust cam seals VVTi solenoid o-rings Thanks.

    turbo through hood??

The compressed air coming out of the compressor will still be hotter (regardless of the where the turbo is) than when there is an air to air intercooler. Probably not "so cool" idea for a street boosting/driving.
