Agreed. However, I will have to try 2,3, even 4 iterations of the above process sometimes before mine will drop into reverse when cold. Multiply this by the "3 second wait" (or put it into a forward gear first) and this quickly adds up. If I have room I simply bump it forward a couple of inches...
Reverse may be hard to shift into even if the rest of the transmission is in good condition (i.e. it may be it's own issue). This could happen if previous owners grinded reverse all of the time shaving down the teeth on the gear. The easiest way I use to get into reverse is to put it in first...
Same here. They sell pre-built frames with a seat that you can mount the wheel and pedals on, but they are all at least $100+. Figured I could make my own out of 2x4s or welding a steel frame. Plus I think it'd be cool to have the shifter at seat-level rather than right by the wheel to be more...
I agree with everyone here the game is a blast to play since I am a big fan of racing simulators. Here are some things that really irk me about the game though:
Engine sounds. While good and still a bit better than previous GT games they still sound very generic. I'm happy to see the sound...
Had a release date shipping order with Amazon.com, so it was supposed to be here today. I checked my UPS tracking number last night to see this message:
"SHIPPER TENDERED THE SHIPMENT TO UPS AFTER THE LATEST PICKUP TIME FOR THE REQUESTED SERVICE. A DAY DELAY IS LIKELY."
Argh!!! :: angry ...
As much as I like seeing the first snowfall of the year, it makes me sad knowing I didn't get as much driving time in the supra this year as I had hoped. Oh well, I have upgrade plans (57 trim + Maft pro) for the winter, so that will keep me busy and it should be ready to go once spring rolls...
Uniontown/North Canton area. Hoping it will be ready and fun this spring :) I have all of the supporting mods for 3-400 HP with the 57 trim as long as my headgasket holds up (stocker retorqued to 72 ft-lbs). If/when it blows I'm not messing around and I'm just going to pull the engine and have...
Not too bad. I've finally settled in my new place (an apartment w/ garage not too far from where I lived before) and am starting back up on the Supra. Looks like I'm running out of driving time this year so it should be back on the road in full force next spring (57 trim CT26 + Maft Pro).
Good to know; I had actually suspected the AFM electronics (specifically the temp sensor) after doing some reading. Maybe the heatsoak from sitting would make it worse and the intake air would only cool things down after 10-20 seconds. I'll know if it was the AFM soon because next on my list is...
For those who have this "bump miss", is it worse on a hot restart? Mine idles like CRAP on a hot restart for the first 10-20 seconds and I've been trying to figure out why for a while now. My wideband reads extremely lean during this episode too.
Sorry nightrider I've never seen that before, but I have to agree with empera and RazoE. I think the styling of the SC300/400 is timeless and still looks great even today. I can't think of any way to improve it!
Aren't you worried that the wheel would ever flex enough to contact the caliper? And I'm just curious what type of caliper you have. Is it from a mustang GT500? I'd like to compare it to the width of my wilwoods.
I never noticed that! You're not talking about a Mustang gt500 are you? Unfortunately it looks like these wheels sold yesterday. They were asking $1700 but sold for $1500 on eBay.
Could you do me a favor and snap a close-up picture of your brakes/wheel? It'd also be nice to know the distance...
Thanks for the insight. I'm still going to try and contact VR Wheels, but I'll probably pass on this set. No sense in taking any chances on them not clearing the brakes. I'd love to get them cheaper, but I'm not really sure where else to buy them. 5 spoke Work Equips seem pretty hard to come by...
Great info! Work USA couldn't give me any dimensions on the equips since they have been discontinued since 2002. However, he did say both the 17x8 and 17x9 appear to be A-disk.
Yes, and thanks for your help in that thread. I know what to look for now. I thought I'd see if anyone else has...
