    The Mistress

Was having some problems starting, and I checked damn near everything before finally discovering the starter itself was on the way out. Not entirely dead, but close enough, especially with the ambient temps here dropping below freezing recently. So, I pulled the damn thing out (which, by the...

Long(er) term - clutch is really grabby. I'll put up with it for the ease on the pedal pressure. :) Other than that, it's been awesome. I didn't keep track of the shims, unfortunately, and it's more complicated than it sounds, as mine came with 4 different shim thicknesses. I did have to pull...

Supra + Faye = Love. My first build thread. (beware, picture heavy...)

This is why I edit posts offline using a text editor, then just use copy / paste to put them into the forum. I'm very fond of an editor called Sublime. http://www.sublimetext.com/

using standalone as a piggyback... pros and cons

With the right tuner, a standalone will run BETTER than the stock computer. I absolutely love my tune. It's smoother than my stock 7M car was.

Supra + Faye = Love. My first build thread. (beware, picture heavy...)

It would be really nice if we could learn from mistakes made by, and advice given by, other people. However, human beings just aren't wired that way. We learn best by making the mistake ourselves. As long as you learn from the experience, and nobody was injured in the process, it's all good...

Correct. Evidently posting while sick with the flu is a bad idea.

This is new to me and i have been around for some time dual mass fly wheel for the 7m

They seem to have borrowed the design from the 2J, with a 7M bolt pattern. Not sure what benefit there would be, if any, to using this AND a sprung clutch hub.

QFT. Lube goes on the threads on the top, and between the nut and the washer. Otherwise, with no lube on there, 90 ft/lbs is going to be... well, a *LOT* more than 90, anyway.

Where did you use the lube, and what kind? Also, how accurate is your wrench?

Ya, it does some weird stuff with admin accounts, join date being one of them.

Gently? I've never seen one of those come off if you're gentle. I've always had to yank on it like a redhead's pony tail in bed.

    Advice, opinions and help needed....

It's not terribly difficult to test most of the fuel system components by themselves. Pull the fuel rail off, remove the injectors, and take them to an injection shop that does cleaning and testing. Testing the fuel pump is easy ... pull it out, plunk it in bucket of fuel, connect power, start...

    Onceover.

The rubber coolant plug on the back was discontinued in '89, so you won't be able to replace that. The chances of the fuel filter needing replacement are pretty slim. It was designed to survive more than a million miles. It's not listed in the maintenance schedule on purpose. Check it before...

    Mechwarrior Online

Anyone else playing? I've been in since May. It's proving to be quite addictive. http://mwomercs.com/ They've done a pretty damn fine job of making it feel like you're pushing 100 tons around the battlefield, instead of the usual re-skinned call of duty style that seems so common. I'm...

Harmonic balancer choices? factory oem failed. so many choices.

ATI is truly better. With that said, I went with the Fluidampr this time around - had an ATI before, and installation was a pain. I'm much happier with the install on this unit.

    Stainless center valve cover

Some of the gaps on this piece are quite large - over 1/4 inch - trying to fill them with FIPG would be a PITA.
