    Hello from Vancouver, BC!

There is plenty of experienced folks around here to draw from. I'm in Richmond, and go to a lot of the local shows. Feel free to fire any questions you have my way. Dave

I have ALMOST bought that keyboard more times than I care to count.

It has extremely fine resolution... too fine, for most things. That's the problem... imagine you are trying to move your finger perfectly parallel to the desk, but 18 inches above it, to 'click'. Consider that selecting a tab on your browser means you have to be accurate within about 5mm...

Well... I *was* planning on using it to make my computer system into a touch screen. Unfortunately, after some fiddling, I don't think that's going to happen. It's really good for grand, sweeping motions - but it's really, really, terrible when it comes to fine tuning.

89 7MGTE | time machine restoration, "build".Highly motivated with no time or energy

Thinner gasket gives you more power off boost, and limits how much boost you can run. Thicker gasket impacts off boost power, but allows you to push more boost. With that in mind, the .1 mm difference between the two might make a measurable difference, but you'll never notice it yourself. Titan...

89 7MGTE | time machine restoration, "build".Highly motivated with no time or energy

Personally, I'd get the RA (roughness average) measured by a machine shop. If they don't have the tool to measure it, I'd be seriously concerned they can make it smooth enough. I'd also do this because I'd be putting in a thick metal head gasket to make up for the material machined off. A...

Mine is a 67 with a .68 exhaust. I don't think I'd like giving up spool for a bit more top end - I almost never use the power anyway, and area under the curve beats top power numbers every time.

Oh... had Bill do some more work on the tune. Not the best conditions, it's 35c inside the shop during the day, but even so, he squeezed a bit more out of it. Still just pump fuel, of course, I've got no use for a race fuel tune.

Alignment is in the cards anyway - I lifted the front end back up half an inch because I'm bloody tired of dragging the exhaust over every little bump in the road.

New tires are broken in, and they are different to say the least. At least twice as much effort to turn the steering wheel now, which is odd, as the tires are only 10mm wider. Wonder how well it'll hold the corners on autocross now?

    Looking for big turbo opinions

Last I heard, nobody had managed to fab a setup to control the variable vaned setups on an aftermarket system... that and the much higher EGTs on gasoline engines might fry the vane setup.

If you're an mk3 owner: How do you respond when someone says, "It's just not a mk4"

Actually, the car I always wanted was a white Lambo Countach. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of driving one about 15 years back. It makes a great decoration piece for a garage (or living room?) but as a car it's terrible.

If you're an mk3 owner: How do you respond when someone says, "It's just not a mk4"

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even when they are wrong. ;) I could afford to buy one. Actually, I could afford to buy several, although I don't know where I'd keep them.

If you're an mk3 owner: How do you respond when someone says, "It's just not a mk4"

I've had this conversation quite a few times. You like the Mk4? Seriously? That's a girl car. It looks like someone carved a model out of butter, then microwaved it for a minute. If I wanted to drive a car that looked melted, I'd buy a Probe... or a 4th gen Mustang. Personally, my favorite is...

You can also pick up threaded sleeves that turn them into fully adjustable height instead of the thee choice option direct from B.
