Why not go buy loaded rear calipers. They come with caliper, caliper bracket, pads, shims, hardware. All slides have been redone. They usually cost $70-100 range.
I feel the car is worth 7-8K range.
Look at what you don;t have to do.
1 Nice body just get it buffed. and at the earliest hint of rust on a molding take it off. This cause the body to rust. No paint save $3-6 k per good paint job. And trim moldings around windows are alot of money to...
I don't see how you can have spark "blow out" with your set up. Stock turbo? correct. How old are your coils, plug wires? Resistance testing cannot tell if the insulation is up to par. Is it worse on damp days?
I only use FIPG where the manual says so. Don't try to seconcd guess Toyota. Never saw one leak from the factory. Been a while since had one off. Squared edge? Make sure the holes line up properly for pressure and drain.
Great job and thanks for sharing. The right tools make all the difference.
BTW he is using shop air to hold the valves closed.. The rubber hose is a compression tester hose hooked to the air line. You can see the hose in pic 5 and 6. If you don't use air to hold valve closed you will say "...
I don't think GOD had anything to do with it. If it was anything it was the devil.
Step one is to run a tap into hole to clean threads. Make sure you put grease on tap to hold metal shavings.
I would buy a new "banjo" bolt. I did see a 26mm long banjo bolt on the web. Don't know how...
I don't think most people get their engines balanced. Even if you run aftermarket rods and pistons. I would not balance your rotating assembly. You are correct if the fact want happens down the road if you replace clutch or flywheel. Your Toyota crankshaft is balanced from the factory and if...
One gallon of color. Not reduced. and gallon of clear. Not reduced
Big mistake on last coat of clear. The painter hit a panel and sent alot of dirt into the air. It took two wet sands and 3 buff jobs before totally happy with the paint job.
In hind site i should have stopped at car...
You cannot start to modify a car that does not run properly. Ok that is not true, you can, but that is a very bad idea.
Sounds like you have money to burn so go ahead and start with one of the most expensive EFi components. Heck get a new CPS and TPS oh don't forget THW sensor. Wait forgot...
I am assuming that the car runs fine.
Go check all the fluid levels and drive the car.
Put lots of miles and smiles on the car and you.
The MKIII platform is a great driving car. Drive it and if you want to start with basis BPU upgrades great.
Before you do any Mods. Make sure all...
I would check for any codes.
If no codes and compression is good. I would start with new plugs and wires.
You probably need to replace valve cover gaskets anyway.
You should also replace all dry and hard hoses on engine. IMO good luck.
