I used an ebay/chinaman 2JZ-GE header on my NA-T swap. Quality was surprisingly good for the low cost.
I did need to turn the W/G flange 90 deg so the dump tube didn't face the chassis rail, but that is small stuff for you IJ.
Also needed to use a 3/8th spacer to mount the turbo, otherwise...
Aviation lover right here!
I have always enjoyed anything that flies. Spent a few years in the New Zealand Air Force as a tech, then paid my way through flight school and have never looked back.
Flight instructed for a while, did corporate flying, air ambulance and now airline stuff. Last...
Your ms paint picture is much better. What I did was angle it a little, so if you took the red line you drew and moved the top to the right, the bottom to the left a little it would look like mine. I have about 1/2 inch from my AC line now.
I wish I had taken a pic!!
Let me try and answer a few.
First, get your grinder back out!! You will need to take off more than that. See the threaded hole on the P/S bracket.. grind that face down until you are close to the bolt that is in that hole. The line is really too high as well as too far forward, so you need...
Ken, the sawblades are on my daily Toyota Solara. Better than the stock 15 inch POS tires it came with:biglaugh:
As for selling my baby...man it is a tough decision. I won't miss any of my other stuff but I will really miss this car. She got me where I needed to go when I had NO money years...
OK, so it is pretty much done!!!!
The more it runs on the maftpro the smoother it gets. I am still working the tune, but it is streetable now so I will start breaking in the clutch before I get on it.
I drove it up and down the street today. Feels good to drive her again, I will miss...
ECU codes are 21 and 24.
24 is no biggie as it is normal the way I have the Maftpro wired. I will try a trick with a resistor to try and get rid of it.
21 is there because I have no stock O2 sensor. I am feeding the narrowband output of my zietronix to the ecu. The code is thrown because...
Here's my progress...
I have fixed my fuel injector leak, I pinched one of the o-rings on installation so I replaced it. All good now.
I initially fired it up running an earlier software version on my Maftpro, 4.40. It ran but it was stumbling and surging, with poor response. It was also...
It runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, at least it kinda runs.. I need to play with the Maftpro to see if I can get a good idle and better response but it will run:drink1:
I will get a short vid tomorrow.............
Dok, I don't have any good pics of the PS grinding. But I just ground it down until there was about 3/8ths of material left. It fits with room to spare now.
Shawn - I will have to bring it by you when it's running!!!
Ken - I didn't make it to any of the TX2K8 stuff. I spent all last...
Hey Ken, about time they put some new paint on 7MA......
Haven't seen that old POS in a while. You should ask Bill if he will let ya fly the real thing, rumor has it more than one medic has flown that airplane:naughty:
Glad you had fun in the sim, it is pretty cool. I get to go in one...
Thanks for the compliments!
I will get some vids when it runs......
I finished everything up and planned to leave it alone until tomorrow...BUT it looked ready to crank so I tried:naughty:
The battery is pretty low so it didn't crank too well... I stopped as I was cranking with the EFI fuse...
OK, I'm back from vacation and I spent a couple of days working on the car.. It is ready to start...almost.
I did a lot of work...
Welded up a midpipe to join my D/P to my catback.
Welded a dump tube for my wastegate.
Shortened the intake pipe to fit.
Welded in iat sensor and Tial BOV...
Haha... wow that looks weird!!!!!! I guess you reversed the photo???
I stared at it wondering what the hell was different.......
Anyway, looks good. Put your hood on so we can see if the GTE intake will clear the hood. I have one sitting here to try out.........
Today I finished the fuel lines and mounted the AFPR. No pic as it is pretty standard.
Also put the harness back on... there are lists already from others about what needs to be done to the 7M harness, but here is what I did.
Wires that now run over the cams to the exhaust side...
