I think I have my mind set on a set of Koni or Bilstein dampers for the car. I came across a thread on another forum about someone using bilsteins with threaded sleeves and custom springs... basically made their own high quality coilovers. This was on a JZA80 though, so I don't know if those...
No, by adjustable I believe they are talking about the damping adjustment. That only means that you can tune them to match different springs (since different springs have a different stiffness). You always want to match the valving in your dampers to the springs you are using so that the...
I wouldn't part it out. I tried parting out my 93 eclipse turbo and after 2 years of trying to sell the stuff I've only made $900 on the car so far. I could have gotten $2K (easily) selling it whole with a bad clutch and some rust. 6 years ago I could have made about $4000 parting it out in the...
I'd like to prevent cluttering up my view and having to drill extra holes in the car, so I was thinking of using the AFC Neo as my only boost gauge. I would assume that the stock 1JZ MAP sensor is very accurate, and the AFC should be displaying exactly what it sees from the MAP sensor, correct...
I know the OP's problem is resolved... but...
The reason for looping the inlet to the outlet of the rack is that it's better than leaving them wide open or capping them off (which will make it harder to turn). Usually people who remove the PS pump to save weight do this so that the rack won't...
Quick question... does anyone know if 17x9 +15 will fit all around without rolling the fenders? If they do need rolling, will it be alot? I was thinking of running 245/40 front and 255/40 rear tires.
I use water wetter in my 2-stroke dirtbikes on the recommendation of the suzuki dealer, I was overheating going through silt bogs in the summer when it was over 90 degrees. It seemed to help, but who knows. Getting stranded 5 miles from home with a seized engine again seemed like it was worth $7...
I'm sure a few people read the fact or fiction featuring this stuff in Import Tuner a few months ago. I'm still pretty skeptical, but it did spark some interest. They seem to do those tests with no bias... they flat out flunked that fuel line magnet Top Fuel was selling.
Anyway, I was looking...
God... those rims will fit anything.
I used to run a set of those on my eclipse, and my wife ran a set on her MX6 too. A friend of mine had them on an RX7 and another friend used them on a 300zx. My uncle even had a set on his Probe. lol.
The offset is a little odd for a RWD, but hey, for...
I've used purple power and it's more expensive brother (castrol superclean) for years to wash engine bays, dirtbikes, quads, and even really grimy vinyl and plastic interior parts with no problems. The important thing is to only leave it on there for a minute or two MAX, and rinse it VERY well...
Sometimes it's easier to pump the clutch 20-30 times quickly and hold it down on the last pump, then have a helper open the bleeder. It'll push the air out very quickly that way. Just don't get in front of the bleeder hose... it'll come out fast. This way works easier sometimes if the reservoir...
Thanks for the info, I figured at least a few people here had to have known about this.
I found another good article about it, the VF1 pin specifically...

Looks like the 1JZ, since it's a pressure sensor application, has only a 3 step output on VF1 for fuel trim...
If you tune your car at that altitude, you should be using the AFC to tune it back to 2.5V.
This thread must be a zombie... it keep being dug back up every time it gets buried.
Yeah the second square plug looks like it might fit this engine, but I don't have a snap-on scanner. Mine is an OTC.
I'm probably going to skip the scanner route for now and see what I can do with a bunch of parts from radio shack and some time. I didn't get to test the volt meter fuel trim...
I found a cartridge and the toyota cable by themselves for $25 each now... but the cable has a round end. It looks like the round end might unplug to reveal a square plug behind the round one, some sort of dual-fit setup, but I can't tell. OTC's website says it fits these cars:
Lexus-Engine...
The OBDI cartridge and cable set for my scanner is only $200, but I wish I could find out if it read datastream or if it only did codes, cause I don't want to buy it and find out it's as useful as a paperclip.
I also found this on some toyota truck forum:
Toyota started implementing OBD-I in...
