Venting to atmosphere on a stock setup can be annoying. Stalls and popping exhaust are typical. It affects some cars worse than others.

Our cars don't have a "mas", they have AFM's. A BOV in front of the AFM will do nothing for you. I recommend that you don't take advice from the person that told you that. Aside from that, yes, you will want to use a recirculating BOV.

Two things: 1. The TCCS stores codes even if the CEL is not on. 2. For Pete's sake...it's an AFM! NOT a MAF! :D

With the right tools, you can easily figure out how much draw your car has now (with everything turned on and at its max) and then add to that the load of the additional lights. If you don't have access to such tools, Automotive Electrical places will typically check your system draw for free...
