Sorry man. I missed your post... My maft pro is setup to control timing; but, there are a couple things that still need to be worked out with that for it to be more reliable. My experience with it is that it does work; but, it isn't consistent. The car surged a bit when using it.

Nick, you just made me think of something. If he's running the Maft in Speed Density, code 34 is stored because the Maft doesn't come on quick enough.

Any car can/will benefit from a tune. Stock or not. A 7MGTE with an intake, exhaust, stock fuel system, and a tune is pretty peppy! You can absolutely tune a stock setup. Have you modified and/or bypassed the J-Tube?
