some minor grinding/sanding of the manifold may give you the required clearance. any worry about the compressor housing so close to the manifold from a heat perspective? doesn't look like the stock heat shields would fit.
hate to ask, but has your tuner tuned an AEM before? I'm not sure about the V2, but the V1 can be a bit cryptic with some of the functions, and an experienced tuner will know all the tricks.
Rather than getting them powdercoated, look up G2 caliper paint. You can do it yourself. Seems the Evo guys cook the powdercoating on a regular basis, and it ends up looking horrible (flaking, discolored, etc).
I noticed heat issues when I had the stock intake manifold with metal hardpipes. This was driving around in traffic though, not racing.
A bunch of stuff. I run a standalone, and there are no emissions regs here. I've also changed ignition setups, fueling, etc, but kept things like the PCV...
a side benefit, but how long does it take to change your spark plugs? :) takes me about 2 minutes.
to each their own, and if you are happy with the stock intake, I won't be able to persuade you otherwise.
I think it's like the SP quickspool valve, in that your car will work fine without it...
Keep heating your intake pipe with your turbo then :wavey:
I would imagine there is a reason that Toyota changed to the FFIM design on the motors after the 7M...
The old argument of "blank went blank.blank with a stock intake manifold proves its better" argument is stupid. Those guys would...
I was curious to see if the Centric parts are actually Brembo or not, good to see that they are. If you can find a set of cheap cores, they are well worth buying from Centric, but my core charge locally was $120/caliper. I found a pair of calipers on ebay for $150.
searched for ball joint boot? it was the 4th or 5th from the top. they are on my list of things to get for whenever I rebuild my suspension/bushings/subframe.
