Wow! Glad you are okay. That was a pretty sharp truck... sorry for your loss, but thankful that it was "material".;) -crisp

Can I get your opinion on my situation?

I don't get it. What does his OWN expenditure on his own project have to do with YOU or YOUR project? What is there to bring up? If anything, ENGAGE him on HIS project by showing an interest, and focus your energy and efforts on YOURS REGARDLESS of what he does financially for you. If YOU...

Strange things found while working on Supras.

NEGATIVE... they come out when you OPEN THE DOOR after the car has sat IDLE for awhile, and you first go to work on it again WITHOUT taking your wasp-killer RAID spray with.;) Been there, done that... unfortunately, on a multiple time a season basis for several years. They ALWAYS come back...

    High WHP on stock internals

Have not applied the AIC yet. If I do, I will run alcohol or similar type injectors and use the AIC setup for meth/water injectors.:biglaugh: The plumbing dilemma is one I will tackle when and if I get there.;) -crisp

    High WHP on stock internals

Just to confirm... are you MEANING a double negative there? (Or do you mean "reduced pressure/increased drop"?) How does a "trapdoor sump" work? That's a new term to me... (unless you are referring to WOMEN... in which case... ahhhh, yes! The TRAP DOOR SUMP!:naughty:) -crisp

    High WHP on stock internals

Stock bottom... really nice head here.;) (Thanks to IJ's research and hard work!) I've had my car for 15 years, and it's been pushing the 15psi envelope on hybrid CT's for a dozen+ of those, nearly 80k miles of it's life, and now I'm playing around with 16~17psi (planning on low 20psi...

What's the little hole in the bottom of the water pump?

I would recommend the Aisin at the extra couple $'s.;) I even gently filed the stamped blade edges which were "rough" on the off-droop side, and expect while MINIMAL, it helps reduce some turbulence.:biglaugh: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51166 ^^^ Hey...

    MKIV wheels?

Yup. Going back and forth between the pics, I don't see any difference in "design/appearance" except the diameter (hard to tell... but it's there). Are 17" and 16" MKIV rims identical except for the diameter? Are they both 8" and 9" fr/rr stagger? (I should know this stuff, I suppose... but...

    Widest tire on "sawblades"?

Hard to really tell in these shots, but the '89 turbo is running 255/50/16 BFG Comp T/A ZR's and the '87 NA ran 255/50/16 BFG Comp T/A VR's for many years. It was a VERY tight pinch on the sawblades, and I wouldn't recommend it, as the rubber "fatigued" over the years and began to...

    MKIV wheels?

Similar situation here with the NA 16" wheels. Really pretty good shape, no "curbing" to speak of. I'd have used them, but the fronts didn't clear my Wilwood's! DOH! These are also staggered. I think I paid $350 WITH used rubber all around, AND a pair of fresh Kumho's for the front...

Amazingly, I still subscribe heavily to this principle! A CLEAN car is a well RUNNING car. Even my Grandma always told us that as kids...;) In Japanese manufacturing philosophy... (and other, even primary school chores and such...) the concept of "5S" or "Five S's" is fundamental to all...

most commonly used tools on supra

I have similar reliability overall from the car itself. I think the operative mode in my case is exactly THAT! MAINTENANCE is often taking PLACE when I'm out and driving... partly attributable to the constant state of modification that is underway with my car... and many others in here...

most commonly used tools on supra

Service station is a LOOOOONG walk in some parts.;) I've used nearly EVERY item mentioned at some point or another. Generally, you only use a COUPLE-THREE tools for any given incident... but in the broad scope of things that can occur... unless you have redundant systems like IJ and a near...
