Speedo in the supra is mechanical FYI... you'd just need to get the proper drive gear ratio for the trans from a speedometer shop, and maybe an adapter of some sort for the cable. If you use one of the non-Aisin transmissions I mean.
Just don't buy cheap spacers, because there's a reason cheap ones are cheap and good ones cost a ton. You don't want to lose a wheel because you saved $50 on a pair of spacers.
If you're looking for a good company for spacers check out H&R.
The only thing with a high mileage chassis is that there's more stuff that will be worn out than a lower mileage car. Just keep an eye out for problems and fix them before they go from small problems to big problems.
FWIW, my car had 96,000 miles on it when I got it, and I had all the same...
SEM makes a black trim paint that approximates the gloss and color of the wiper arms and cowl. That's what I used to paint mine and 2.5 years later they still look like the day I painted them. I wish the rustoleum I used on the rest of the car resisted fading that well.
Yeah I guess I forgot to update this.
It was the rear turbo. Once it was off I took the turbine housing off the center section and there was oil leaking out behind the turbine wheel.
The valve stem seals were definitely bad though, if I would have done the turbo first it would have still been...
Somebody should find out what kind of car that guy likes and post an article on that site ripping on it. Not for the purpose of ripping on that car, just to piss him off and call him a fanboy if he replies. You know, real mature like.
I bet that post came to exist about an hour after his 7M...
I wasn't referring to the evo fronts. I was wondering about the other kit that they were developing (with milled custom adapted calipers that bolt on). Mostly curiosity, I'm not looking to buy a kit yet from anyone.
To be honest I think I may have found something on my own here, but I won't...

I'm sure he had to do all of that but didn't mention it since it's been established you HAVE to do the spacers and machine the rotor ID.
Any updates on the front setup? I searched but wasn't able to find anything new about it.
With this car the dealer is your best bet for original parts. There are a few discontinued parts and for those you'll have to buy them from salvage yards, eBay, or in the classified section of forums like this one. For OEM replacement parts rockauto.com has a good selection. There really aren't...
One benefit is that it does recover the fuel vapors and allow you to burn them, so it should have a positive effect on fuel economy. Probably a very small effect though.
I keep forgetting about putting one back on my car. Every summer it reminds me though with the fuel stink. I want to put one...
Has anyone had any experience with this type of brace on a supra before?
or this type?
I've read a lot of good reviews on those types on miatas, which can't be much more stiff than a targa top car (with the top out).
I don't see the former doing much on a hardtop supra (maybe...
FWIW, Altrom is a napa "line" and not a manufacturer. They re-box OEM, OEM supplier, and "rare parts" manufacturer stuff. Some good stuff, some cheap stuff (like everything these days).
I took a video with my digital camera, but it doesn't sound quite right, the mic on the camera is pretty low quality. It's also MUCH louder than in real life. Either that or maybe I'm going deaf.
Here it is anyway. I really need to save up some money and get a decent video camera, like a...
The tach on my dyno and my AFC Neo both read 200rpm higher than the dash at 3000RPM (it's progressive, it's worse the higher you rev). I hit the rev limiter with the dash tach saying about 6500. This isn't revving fast, so I know it's not just the tach being too slow to respond.
I had an 88'...
I pulled my tach out to swap the resistors so my tach reads right with the 1J (it's been off by about 200rpm and it's annoying me) and it looks like my tach has different resisitors than I was expecting to find. My car came with a 7MGTE and an automatic transmission. There's also a second...
