LOLz! Good rationalization for the weight, HA! Looking at some "low cost" MB rims in same sizing... sounds like right at 20lb range. Better than 23, but man 16~17lb rims would pay off BIG in rotating mass reduction! Thank you for the feedback. ;) -crisp

After reading this thread until my eyes got woggly... and finally receiving some helpful feedback... then making several additional calculations and considerations, I am about to pull the trigger on: 17x9 +30 FR/RR mated to 255/45/17 all around (current rubber) with possibly wider rear later...

Rodel, Appreciate your input. Of all people, I KNOW you know wheels, rubber and stance! To clarify, when you say 255 "won't stretch" on 9.5", do you mean it "can't" fit a 9.5" or that it's not MUCH of a stretch at all? If the former, then I shouldn't go over 9" width w/255... if the latter...

Thank you for the feedback... I already have fresh 255/45 rubber on current 17x8 rims, so wanting to reuse. I don't think 255 is much "stretch" at all on 9", and minimal on 9.5"? (I would likely go 265~285 on rear next round.) So +15 will "clear" on a minor drop at that size? This is my 1st...

IF 255/45/17 all around... THEN... 17x9.5 +15 -OR- 17x9 +30 all around. Which, and why or why not. Thank you, -crisp

Hi guys, been following this thread forever, but haven't actually posted a rim/tire combo for consideration up to this point. My car is only slightly dropped (NOT to many of your taste, but function is much more important than style at my age... ;) so figure 1"~1.5" only lowered on original...

^^^ You need THIS UNIT to have the option for EITHER RPM -OR- BOOST trim points... VVV ...on the other hand, THIS UNIT (Below) only has trim points for RPM adjust points. I think you can see the details in the diagrams and the instructions to help you out IF you have the GCC unit...
