Hmmm... not sure if I can answer your questions, but here are a few shots of the EAC-T Suspension System manual ('86~'88) and my car is an '89 with this installed.

Also, off-set spacers to bring them BACK OUT are going to ADD WEIGHT and potentially reduce STUD ENGAGEMENT... possibly needing longer studs. BOTH add weight, and would be MUCH better strategy to get PROPER OFFSET for your desired "stance" or "look", I should think...

Given the mass of the battery in that high-mount location, I'm thinking with enough force from an impact... anything is possible, including separation of the lead cell contents from the casing itself? Additionally, the force could be in a range of directions... making an assured...
