    Has any work been done on the AC? It's not going to blow cold when it starts to overheat as the system shuts off to save the motor.

    No such thing as a 2JZ bellhousing for an R154 ;) So if it's bolted on, and if it's for a JZ engine, it's for a 1JZ ;)

    Non-functional idle up circuit ;) It's that little vaccum line that attaches to the bottom of the accordian hose.

    Just age and use. They're rubber so they can dry rot, and they can also be contaminated by oil pretty easily as well. I'm assuming you have the square style? Aftermarket is fine, but OEM generally lasts longer (much more expensive usually). There are upgraded ones too...

    Compression check to test your rings would be another good thing to do... Valve stem seals usually aren't constant like that, so you have some other issue. Could be a clogged oil drain on the turbo as well (turbos don't have "seals")

    Drums are heavy and not as effective as disks. Not to mention they don't self clean as well (bad for offroading)
