I assume by B1 you mean the postive lead of the clutch safety switch? Shouldn't have voltage unless it's in the start position, but it's also used for the cruise control...

It's a lever, so yes, the drop may be more than an inch, but it tends to be that. (guess I'm the only one that gets the question...)

You can pull the engine out without removing the driveshaft, but putting it back you'll need to at least unbolt the center support bearing to get it back in. Personally, I just remove it entirely so the slip yoke doesn't get damaged.

Don't see the second one working at all without modifying the endtanks.

Cosmetic change. Also, you shouldn't use a file to clean contacts. It will remove the coating on them and leave the surface rough causing more damage. Know what works best? A pencil eraser.
