Looks like 4" exhaust, but the lighting makes it look like there's an expansion chamber under the subframe! Looks huge there.. haha
^ Unless there is also a vent hole (ideally going to a vacuum source, i.e. turbo inlet hose) in the canister, his is setup extremely wrong and he should fix that before it blows a seal out (or worse) due to crankcase pressure.

I guess since you said this car was your daily driver, I wrongfully assumed that the car was with you and that anyone with any mechanical intellect whatsoever could pull codes on an OBD1 car. Silly me.

SC's are extremely nice cars and people keep them for a long time.. My brother just bought one last year and it was a difficult search. They were either really rusty and had 300,000mi on them, or super clean with average miles.
They're a nice driving car, and have TONS of amenities that I feel...
